Even if it is just filling envelopes and counting votes, I'm sure the office staff are glad of something to do during this quiet period.
He's got no intention of the selling the club, he knows perfectly well he'd never get his money back. This is nothing more than an empty threat, a final throw of the dice, an attempt to blackmail fans into voting for a name change in next weeks ballot. Not that ballot is going to help him much now, the headcase has just accused the FA of being bent. It's got beyond ridiculous now. FFS Assem, please stop digging.
Was the ballot scheduled before yesterdays announcement or did he call it as a knee jerk reaction to it?
Exactly...but he can't liquidate/asset strip the club without possibly destroying his other business interests.Assem Allam is nowhere near rich enough to take a hit like that, although some people still seem to think he is.He's going nowhere.
He called it on Saturday, but we believe the FA advised them of their decision last week, so one almost certainly forced the other.
The club is disappointed with the timing of yesterday’s announcement made by The FA. We feel we have been prejudiced right from the outset. The FA introduced a new policy to handle our application on the back of consultations with the City Til We Die group, and we therefore feel that our application was already pre-judged. This feeling has been reinforced with yesterday’s announcement, as the club feels this will further prejudice the forthcoming ballot of season pass holders. However, this is now the time for the silent majority to come forward and support the club’s aspirations. Details of the ballot will be released to season pass holders within the next 48 hours. http://www.hullcitytigers.com/news/article/201314-club-statement-fa-1428865.aspx#jZb87qIp3I4QGkex.99 I can't believe we've got an official statement on our OWS claiming the FA is colluding with a protest group, it's embarrassing.
He really is an egotystical maniac. The press etc will have a field day with this. Why oh why can't he just accept it was a bad idea and stop being so blinkered. He is just so used to getting his own way and he can't do it a fair way then he will buy his way. Yes I know he has put lots of money into charities in Hull but so do a lot of people who do not publicise it. He wants to be loved and put on a pedestel. Once people start to question him he turns into a wild animal out for revenge. God help us.
Oh right, a bit messy this then. Is he right in saying that they created a new protocol in light of this application and that the protocol was drawn up after consultation with the City fans pressure group?
The £90m is guaranteed against his other business, if he starts ****ing about, they could call in his bank facilities at Allam Marine. If I was his bank manager, I'd be getting nervous already, I might even be calling for men in white coats.
So its all CTWD's fault again. If he had allowed a vote before he put the application in then it would not have got this far. Talk about stupid.
Because he will have borrowed money to buy the club with his shares in the other businesses as security. As soon as the club is valued on a breakup basis his financiers will panic and call in loans.
I have no idea what he's referring too, the rules are quite vague, they basically just say the decision is entirely at the discretion of the FA, it doesn't detail a protocol that needs to be followed. All stakeholders were given an opportunity to submit a written submission and to appear in person if they wished, it was all done confidentially and no details of any submission were discussed with any other stakeholder(thoough most parties made theirs public anyway, at least with regard to the written submissions).
No. I suspect the FA, after the Wimbledon/MK Dons fiasco, paid for legal advice which set out the procedure to be followed if they got an application. We had to follow that procedure just the same as the club.
All the bank will want is there capital back. I'm assuming the balance sheet at Allam Marine is strong, hence the ability to leverage a £90m debt? If he started asset stripping City and reduced the cost base as per my suggestion in #287, then the bank wouldn't have an issue with it, as they'd be getting their capital back.
To be fair, the FA are that incompetent, clueless, corrupt, biased, stupid.... It's not a ludicrous claim to make, the FA are spineless pricks.
He really needs to let this go. He came up with an idea, most people thought it was crap and of little or no value, he tried to get the games governing body to agree with him and has failed. Bury it ffs and get back to enjoying the massive success you're having this season!
