Selling all the best players would guarantee both that he wouldn't get a buyer and City getting relegated. Mr Allam may not have a clue about marketing but he understands a balance sheet. Add up the value of our players and you'll see it is only a small fraction of the debt.
Just tuning in. Fantastic news! This really adds to my pride in being a HULL CITY supporter. The manner in which CTWD, in pretty quick time, put together such a multi-faceted, sophisticated and at the same time, grass roots campaign is very impressive. All power to the fans who have not allowed themselves to be bullied and intimidated by people whose only argument has been, "we have lots of money so you have to do what we want". I hasten to add, there is no hate in that observation. Just calling it as I see it and I hope everyone can move on. I suggested a little while ago Happy, that you should change your user name to Bitter and Resentful Tiger and I have to say that now this decision has been handed down you are sounding worse than ever. Of-course some anti name change people have been angry with the owners but your repeated efforts to claim that the ill feeling towards them is part of the CTWD agenda is quite pathetic. The longer this debate went, the more bile you spewed at your fellow supporters who value the clubs heritage. YOU need to stop hating! Once again, congratulations to CTWD, the individuals involved like OLM and all HULL CITY fans who contributed.
How much interest has he already received from his loan? Take the premier league prize money, take some of next seasons tv revenue, let's say £10 or £15 million from the sale, done. Then the buyer will have to inject cash to pay the running costs of the club next season, so the debt will essentially just transfer from one individual to anoth.
Don't waste your breath, CTWD are evil, the Allams are pure with only the best interests of the club at heart, the fans not opposed to the name change are wonderful, those opposed to it are scum We will cease to exist in 6 months when Allam sells our squad for £200 million & then leaves
omg really? Pot? Kettle? I'm not hating anyone. I agree, kudos to CTWD for influencing more members of the FA than they have actual members. Empty vessels and all that eh? Out of interest, if the poll goes ahead and the results show a majority are NOT against the name, what would you do? Respect the wishes of the majority?
You have a very convincing and well reasoned argument. That's it, 20:14 on Saturday I'll be singing Please change our name, our lousy old fashioned name, I think you really understand, that if you change our name, our ****ty lousy name, you'll have a self sustaining business in your hands.
The FA are not rejecting the change because of the views of the fans, they are rejecting it because the other stakeholders (PL, other clubs etc) are against it & because there is NO BUSINESS CASE FOR THE CHANGE
Empty vessels? Don't you realise how bitter that sounds? Would I accept the views of the majority? Absolutely. I would also take account of the circumstances involved and if I felt that undue pressure had been brought to bear or the result had been manipulated, I would continue to campaign if I felt there was sufficient support. One thing I would definitely NOT do, is piss in the wind and whine and complain endlessly about how I'm right and everyone else is wrong. Get the point?
Of course we would respect the wishes of the majority. But obviously that's not going to happen. There's not many people with such poor understanding to result in anything other than a big majority wanting to retain the present name.
So now CTWD are responsible for the club not being able to provide a credible case for changing the name?
Happy Tiger has invested all his ego in being on the wrong side of reasoned argument. All he's got left is to lash out rather like Mr Allam. The question is will he walk away? Happy Tiger I mean from this forum.
I'm not big on business/debt and all that jazz but isn't it quite likely the club could be sold for what its worth (20-40 million? no idea) and the rest of the money the Allams have put in will remain as a loan/debt to be repaid over time? What is the value of the club? Surely if we stay up we're worth £20 million, get in to Europe £30 million maybe?
The club is probably worth £30m tops, with £90m of debt, it is therefore currently worth -£60m. Nobody is going to buy the club with the current debt level, even for £1, not unless they've got more money than sense. Which is not impossible.
Just had a look at the Hull Daily Mail article, looks like this Happy Tiger character is making a fool of himself on the comments section there too
Do you believe the vote will be a simple for/against question? Or are you thinking the "no opinions" or no responses should be counted as "for"
You aren't hating anyone except CTWD do you mean ? Maybe you need to go back and look at some of your posts , haters gonna hate indeed
