    --------------------------------------------------------------------

Newcastle U21s return to action tonight, with a trip to the coast for a semi-final tie against Whitley Bay in the Techflow Group Northumberland Senior Cup.

The Magpies have conceded home advantage to the Northern League side and kickoff at Hillheads Park is set for 7.30pm. Admission is by paying at the turnstiles.

Last year's finalists Bay last faced United in the Senior Cup at the same stage in 2010, running out 3-1 winners over a side including Paul Dummett in front of 774 fans.

Since replacing long-serving manager Ian Chandler with interim boss Leon Ryan last month, the Seahorses are unbeaten in five league games and include ex-United junior Tomi Ameobi in their squad.

The other semi-final sees current Senior Cup holders Ashington face Blyth Spartans at Woodhorn Lane on Tuesday, a tie also confirmed as a 7.30pm kickoff.

At stake is a place in the Senior Cup final, to be staged at St. James' Park on Tuesday April 22nd @ 7pm.

I'll be there tonight and if anyone would like to share a pint, <ok>

Does that mean I don't have to bring my own straw?

Thanks for the plug by the way.

1-0 to the toon as said above Rolando Aarons scored from the edge of the 18 yard box on 85mins
on what was a cold, windy and sometimes rainy night
both teams were equal in effort during the first half with the bouncy pitch proving a bit difficult for slick accurate passing

second half and both teams were going for goal with no real cutting edge until the 85th min
    when Aarons scored

we sat about 10 foot away from Carver and Pardew.
Pardew taking his seat 5mins after kick off and left 20mins into the second half.
In that time he signed numerous autographs for the kids along with doing a few selfies with the kids

Missed that, the game wasn't too bad, but not as good as I'd expected. A good goal by Aarons and once again Kemen and Quinn looked good when they came on.

PS. Pedro's put quite a bit of weight on.

He did like his sweets going back to when he was playing for us in his hey day.

Disappointed by the lack of Yasmine Bleeth photos in her pomp. In fact even at 45, I still would.

I'd have been somewhere on one of those shots. Saw that manly hunk with the head of thick black hair 'Cliffy' there too.

Everybody that goes to the away games knows Cliffy, a mop of dyed black scruffy hair and he never stops talking.

been a long time since I went to any of the away games
just that work and family took over

now that my son hs grown up a bit (15)
I've thought about taking him to some of the away matches this season
but with Ashley taking the minimum allowance,
makes it very hard to get the tickets if you're not a regular traveller

I remember going to Old Trafford taking 15,000, Sheff Wed 12,000, Liverpool on a friday night over 10,000 for a live tv game
    never going to happen again
