This site reckons we've a 39% chance of relegation. It then breaks it down further if you click on our club. Picking up 8 points reduces are risk of relegation to 7%, whilst 7 points gives us a 20% chances of relegation. In order for it to be more likely than not that we get relegated, we would have to pick up 5 points or less.
Well 8 points is quite a high total. I've just noticed Sunderlands last 4 game have 3 HOME games against Cardiff, West Brom and Swansea. Could be good for us, but equally very bad.
It bewilders me that the likes of Swansea, West Brom and Hull have less than 10% chance of relegation according to this.
What ever his current take on events, I'm now with one of the sensible ones in this debate, RobbieBB I can only imagine he's to bored of all this to get involved. I think at least as far as any in out debates, til the end of the season I may just join the sidelines too! Of course he may just be busy. Bah!
True, they're decent enough, but given they play Hull, Sunderland and us away, in losing or beating these teams there are big swings. I.e., so long as we don't lose at home to Sunderland or West Brom, and beat at least one of them, the chances are West Brom's games will take points from our rivals, or leave West Brom in the mire. And our home form is strong. To be honest, I suspect that this season's relegation dodgers will be the teams who nick a good win against a top club, and ensuring they don't lose to their rivals.
Well its Palace, Fulham and Cardiff for me to go down. Palace have a poor squad, and Fulham and Cardiff are suffering from an identity crisis (like ourselves) which is too late to resolve. Sunderland seem to have a good manager in place, West Brom as well, Swansea have good players, West Ham points in the bag. I can see Hull slipping up and being close by the end.
Do you think the WBA manager is good? Not saying he isn't but they have not been very good under him and there has been criticism that the players don't like the way he plays. Although admittedly I have not seen much of them. I agree with Fulham and Cardiff to go, plus one other. Or at least that seems most likely.
Their results have been pretty good considering who they have played. Followed by an away win at Swansea.
Not sure they have been that good, aside from the Swansea win. A couple of good draws but not much else to shout about. In fact just 2 wins this year out of 10.

But Hughton is doing what he was told to be his employers - if any of us did exactly what our employers told us to do we would expect to keep our job too regardless what anybody outside of the job thought.
Sorry, but that's garbage. Alan Bowkett said openly at the start of the season that after finishes of 12th followed by 11th, that 10th was a realistic objective. So blame the chairman if some fans have their expectations a bit too high - scrapping for ugly points with games fast running out was not part of his remit.
I agree what Bowkett said was a bit stupid and didn't help matters. But surely it just meant realistically we could finish 10th and not that it was the minimum requirement? I'd imagine the minimum job requirement for CH is to keep us up, and therefore he is currently achieving this. Although, of course this is all speculation.
People always ignore the context of that statement to maker an argument, he was saying that our best case was a 10th place finish but they were budgeting for a 16th place finish. So 16th is the goal everything else is a bonus.
