Good for him, deserves to play for a top team Has easily been the stand out performer this season and has been a cracking signing over the past 4/5 years.
Agree Sheep I would be happy for him if he did sign for them. He deserves it and would be selfish of us to expect him to stay.. (as devastated as I'd be )
He is unlikely to be a first pick for a top 8 side. They all want foreign internationals (not scotch though).
Marshy's one of the best keepers in the Prem. Be stupid for them to go looking for foreign internationals when it's right under their noses.
Agree but look at the evidence. Only Hart is not foreign and it wouldn't be a surprise if Man City went looking for a top foreign keeper in the summer. Change from the old days when the likes of Clemence, Wilson, Stepney, Rimmer, Bonetti, Corrigan, Parkes, Sprake, Harvey, Jennings etc used to don the gloves.
Okay, being practical, if he goes what's he worth? Turned 29 a week or so ago. Recently signed a new contract to 2018 so another 4 years worth to us. Despite the number of goals conceded those he can be faulted for can be counted on one hand. Scotland's No. 1 - not sure if that is a good thing or not. Keepers don't return as much as outfield players but got to be worth £5/7 million at least, if not more, taking into account this season's form. If we stay up he could stay up but if we go down then I wouldn't expect him to drop with us having tasted the Prem and done well. He might like a crack at European football, not guaranteed the way Spurs are playing but he would have to the end of the season to decide. Best keeper we have ever had, bar none.
he wouldnt get into spurs team, but he'd be a good signing for any team from southampton down. west ham could do with a keeper, wouldnt begrudge him a move if we go down.......
Reports are the Lloris wants away if no Champions League next season - that's a given he's off then. If Friedel is back up there is no reason Marshie wouldn't be their first choice if Lloris went. I wouldn't expect Marshie to go anywhere he was bench warming though.
How Marshal can improve on past performances is almost impossible , but he does it every game it seems. If cardiff can stay up , Marshal will want to stay where he is , first choice and legendary , possibly. He will never go back to the Championship
Cheers Sparks, my bad. Had a little tete-a-tete a couple of weeks ago and could have sworn I saw a reference to Mabs, hence today's comment. Therefore, for Mabs read Breezey. Where is Mabs lately by the way and does he have a new name too?
I can assure you sir, the pleasure - and may I say honour - is all mine for being in the midst of such greatness! Now, what on earth is going on with my football club?
