Just thought I'd discuss something different from the latest transfer news. Read this a couple of days ago <http: //uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/armchair-pundit/article/12759/> on Eurosport and was in perfect agreement with the author despite being a Goon. There are not more than 3 players over the past 2 decades I'd put ahead of him but a lot of opposition fans would have you believe he's a smug, selfish, overrated showpony.

So do you believe he's getting his just dues or do you, like me, believe he may be undersold in the annals of history due to being in the shadow of a certain Argentine midget.

I'd say that Ronaldo is as good if not better than messi. It's just how form and luck finds you - and of course that Messi has been playing in Barcelona's tried and tested formation for many years, whereas RM are still to finalise their true style. once that happens then Ronaldo will be unstoppable and the tallismanic player that messi has become. Although I still think he's a pompous, pretentious smug git.

I certainly don't agree he's better than Messi or his equal. And for those who keep talking of Messi's supporting cast at Barca, both players are at clubs whose style maximizes their potential. Barca's intense, intricate, compact style high up the pitch isn't suitable for Ronaldo.

I think Messi is more exciting to watch, a better player and much less of a dick. Football is at its highest quality when the whole team works together as a unit, however the nature of Ronaldo's individualistic playing style means he inevitably dominates the side. Although this can be good as it means he can drag a team through matches when nobody but him is playing well the flip side is also true, where if he plays badly or is nullified from a match then the whole team suffers.

Messi though can act as a team player and be a match winner. It is his acceptance that the unit is more important than the individual that makes him the better player in my opinion, not his talent (although he is ****ing amazing!).
