I wouldn't be surprised if City try tapping him up behind the scenes like they did with Nasri

I remember when we signed him. A lot of fans slaying Wenger for signing a league 2 French footballer...

    Hmm Maybe.

Mertesacker is our best defender though IMO.

Don't we have one of these threads every season? The answer, as always, is yes.

I am not that certain. I think he is close, but he always has a mistake in him. A pen or a red card. If he has less of those moments, then he is up there with the best.

That's massive coming from you, as you used to be his biggest critic on here.

come on , you cant be a top defender without catching the odd red card , no chance .

Refs are stupid and you will get caught out more than a few times .its an occupational hazard .
He has to be judged on his results .

And they are without question .

I don't think there's any CB that is perfect in every dept. But Kos comes close, but for the odd rash moment his overall play is ****ing brilliant and he oozes quality in that position.

He is one of the best one on one defenders in the world. In the air he is decent but we have big Mert for that. Kos and Mert make a great partnership.

I hate the World Class tag. I also love Koscielny for both his footballing ability and his ears. His pace compliments Mertesacker so brilliantly and I've lost count of the amount of superb, last ditch tackles he makes. The issue is that when you are making these last second tackles eventually you'll give away a penalty. 99 times out of 100 he will look an absolute boss but he has those errors in him which have hurt us in the past.
