Greizmann is a quality player.

Would be pricey though. Would rather we get a driving midfielder.

yeah when he was linked first was the time to get him.

we are now 90% on for CL. I think the transfer list will be crystallised at this point and we'll be going both early and late in the next window

Xherdan Shaqiri says he is happy at Bayern Munich but would be open to offers if the likes of Liverpool, Napoli or Juventus made a bid.

Switzerland international Shaqiri, who joined Bayern from Basel in 2012, faces competition from the likes of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben for first-team football at the Allianz Arena.

It was claimed in January that Liverpool were interested in Shaqiri after losing out on Mohamed Salah to Chelsea, and asked by Goal.com about links with the Reds, Juve, Napoli and Borussia Moenchengladbach, the winger refused to rule out a transfer.

He said: "When you hear these names, of course you have to listen to the offer, but there is nothing concrete. I cannot say anything to this. I am feeling good in Munich but as a player you have to listen, if one of these top clubs is interested.

<ok> I've liked what I've seen from him. Strong like a bull, fast, very good left foot, esp at crossing. 20m could snatch him.

Would love to have Ljajic but he's probably not leaving Roma. He's quite tricky and creative, but he is a bit of a troublemaker if the manager doesn't believe in him. Rodgers gives youth a chance, so he could settle nicely here. That being said he'd compete with Sterling, Coutinho, Suso, and Tex. Not a position we really need, unless we were to go for a Borini type winger/striker who can play anywhere on the front line. Ljajic would fit the bill but would be expensive at 20m+

Shaqiri would be immense! Would love to have him!! Apparently, we met with reps of Firminio last week and rumours are gathering pace.

The targets that have been mentioned are seriously encouraging!

Looking forward to the summer.

Plays in the number 10 role for Hoffenheim - quick, creative, scored 19 goals in all comps in 28 games, and has 12 assists.

Good stats. More competition for Coutinho rather than Sturridge then?

Yeah, deffo more for Coutinho. Rodgers is desperate for a goal scoring midfielder and I think Firminio is the man ...

What we've seen recently though is that in that role you need to be able to put in a shift, especially defensively like Allen/Sterling/Coutinho have done in recent games.

How awesome would a Muller be in that role huh? Hermann from Monchengladbach possibly although think he is more of a winger. Marco Reus is dreamland but who knows. Need to see more of Gaitan on his work rate but he is quality enough.

Apparent quote from the president.

He'd rather sell to Spurs because he thinks London life is preferably? Yeah... screw ambition and CL football, it's all about the London life <doh>

do we care?

The moment the asswipe pulled his stunt 75% of clubs across europe put a black mark down against this club so nobody wants to do business with him. If Levy who seems to have lost it with ego and liking a deal wants him fine. I'm sure they can convert him into a left full or Cb or something like they have ruined half the signings they've made so far.

The fact is the biggest wages will out so sigurdsson and this guy and eriksen can all swivel on their london lifestyle.

Liverpool: 5 Key Free Transfer Targets This Summer

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...-key-free-transfer-targets-this-summer/page/2

Goalkeepr: Kasper Schmeichel
27-year-old Dane Kasper Schmeichel is currently plying his trade below his station in the Championship with Leicester City.

Whilst the Midlands club are currently on track for automatic promotion to the Premier League, the towering goalkeeper's contract remains set to expire at the end of the season.

Left Back: Caner Erkin
With Erkin's contract set to expire at the end of this season, Rodgers may look to the 26-cap Turkish international to fill the role next season—particularly with the lowly Aly Cissokho looking likely to trudge back to his parent club Valencia at the end of the season.

Max Munton, of This is Anfield, provided a scout report for this site when the initial rumours circulated in December, opining:
"Erkin, who infamously wears the number 88 for Fenerbahce, is a very attack-minded left-back, having regularly played in left midfield earlier in his career."

Right-Back: Martin Montoya
22-year-old Barcelona full-back Martin Montoya has been reportedly interesting the Anfield club since last year.

Andy Hunter, writing for The Guardian, suggested back in November that Montoya was one of the Reds' primary targets in an unfortunate January transfer window:

Centre-Back: Younes Kaboul
Possibly a surprise inclusion on this list, a ready-made backup centre-back option for Liverpool this summer would be Spurs' French defender Younes Kaboul, who is currently seeing out his contract with the London club.

Centre Midfield: Diego (Atlético Madrid)
Brazilian play-maker Diego re-signed with Spanish club Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window, on a short-term deal as reported by Sky Sports.

However, with the Xabi Alonso-lookalike's contract only running till the end of this season, Liverpool would be wise to monitor this player's progress.

In 2012, when Diego was still with German side Wolfsburg, Alex Di Mascio wrote for Sabotage Times imploring the Reds to sign the Brazilian:

Best of the Rest

As previously mentioned, this summer has the potential to produce a wealth of quality in the free transfer market.

Other than the options previously detailed, there are plenty of other options for Brendan Rodgers to consider in the free transfer market this summer.

Goalkeepers: Guillermo Ochoa (AC Ajaccio); Diego Cavalieri (Fluminense)

Defenders: Bacary Sagna (Arsenal); Ashley Cole (Chelsea); Alex (PSG)

Midfielders: Urby Emanuelson (AC Milan); Jeremy Menez (PSG); Aaron Hunt (Werder Bremen)

Forwards: Mame Biram Diouf (Hannover 96); Eduardo (Shakhtar Donetsk)

Whilst Rodgers is likely to dip his toes into the transfer market with some high-profile high-priced signings, he would surely be advised to take a look at those transfer that are a likely to pose less of a financial risk: as mentioned, there is plenty of quality to be found.
