A week in Spain and then a week in Yorkshire, has meant that I've not been around much recently. However I cannot understand why there isn't a clamor for the managers's head. he has been in charge of the worst run of form seen at the club for maybe 40-years!!!. Yes I get it that Brian's a nice guy, but manager's are employed for results and we are not getting them. We can't pass it, can't understand team selection, can't understand his transfer policy, Can't understand his tactics. I know he's working for tossers, but that's no excuse for this shyte we're watching. Relegation form from a side that has some decent players in it? He's making Warnock look like Ferguson
Hey Doc, Think we are mostly of the opinion that there is nobody to sack him. Cellino's immediate future is uncertain and GFH won't want to pay the compensation. Glad to see you back!!!
Well said doc. Personally can't wait to see the back of 90 percent of current squad and manager. Absolute disgrace week in week out to the proud name of Leeds united
Wooton, Marius, Murphy, Hunt, Stewart, Kebe. On paper all great signings and we would all have been chuffed with them at the start. Marius started off great and was different class then turned into a spazer. Murphy is young and reckon he has something but Stewart has been shyte all his career, kebe isn't the player he was at Reading otherwise he woul;d have got some games at palace. Wootton under 21 international who kept Lees out of the team but Brian sees it different here. Butland and the big striker Salmon are good and so too is maybe Smith. The manager sees something different from us fans, he never uses his subs unless he has to and only then for a few minutes. When was the last time we saw flowing football at the club? oh probably with our league 1 team and in the first season back in the championship under Grayson. Sorry Brian but it aint working and I'm sick of being laughed at because I'm a Leeds fan
Doc ... you will forever be laughed at as a Leeds fan ... if we keep changing managers, even after you said this season was mid table at best due to the dross Grayson and Warnock brought in Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
McD was always brought in as a long-term manager, and this year was always going to be mid-table mediocrity, which is exactly where we are. The problem is that GFH came in as introducing long-term stability, despite knowing they would be looking for investors and for a sale, they were supposed to be putting the foundations in place for stability. Somehow they have completely ****ed up on that - and I do believe that has affected everyone. Sacking the manager and then reinstalling him has a massive impact - I am assuming that all the players and McD think that as soon as Cellino comes in, the axe will be swung (whether the hammer will actuallycome down or not is irrelevant at the mo), and that will leave all players delivering at less than 100%. You said it yourself Doc - Wootton, Marius, Murphy, Hunt, Stewart, Kebe were all great on paper and possibly are all great at training. And then when they get on the pitch.... McD knows that he puts out a team that can theoretically compete and play football every week and we should be winning many more than we are - they just don't bloody do it. I'm not calling for McD's head because I think his plan is building a team of young players slowly, and brining in more of those kids that have been out on loan all season - but none of that will happen this year. If he goes, all the foundations he has put in place for the longer term are wiped from his record, unfairly. However, I do think he will be removed as soon as Cellino comes in, so no use worrying about it. In exactly the same way, no use worrying about the fact he is still there at the moment, because the season is over and we will push on and stave off any last lingering doubts of relegation while ending up comfotably mid-table, as most people predicted from the beginning of the year
Don't think its the fact we're mid-table,its the fact the other mid-table teams are beating us by 4,5 and 6 goals. And on form we are with Millwall as the worst few teams in the league despite signing a few players that were supposed to be quality. He's lost the dressing room or is clueless either way not good for us.
We are not a mid table team and anyone believing that is deluded. We are a bottom three team that are blessed to have Ross with his 25 goals. The rest of the team are no better than Millwall or Yeovil.
Was going to say myself 14th is not mid table and form over the last 4 months is that of a team bottom 5. Sooner McD is out the better, Warnock was poor but he had to sell Snodgrass, he had to sell Clayton to enable him some money to wheel and deal and we expected a few bottom of the barrel players to come in. McD has not had to sell anyone, he has had at least £2m to spend and yet he signs 9 players and the majority of the time we see at least 9 of Warnocks players starting, not sure myself what McD has done that is slightly positive? Are we playing better football, are we in a better position are the results any better under McD than Warnock - NO Has McD increased our pool of deadwood? - YES Look at the backing he has had, in the past would we have sold Ross and not offered him an improved contract, would we have been able to bring in the likes of Wickham and Butland on loan would the manager have been told you need to sell first and reduce the wage bill. McD has been backed more than Grayson and Warnock put together yet he still takes us a backward step because this team and this manager going into next season would be amongst the favourites for relegation. Before anyone mentions he has brought the best out of Ross I will point out he has destroyed Byram, he has allowed Diouf arguably the second best player last season to take the pi$$ and become overweight and lazy, he really is spineless and clueless.
14th is midtable. And form is temporary - it's a marathon over 9 months, not a half marathon over 4. We will see where we are come May - I predict we will be midtable mediocrity (ie safe, not threatening or being threatened, anywhere from 10th to 17th/18th)
The style of football we are playing is crap. Beemacdee would have us believe he is a tactical genius and although I believed him in august, I have seen 25-30 games this season and it is quite clear he hasn't got a clue of what his best team is, what our best formation is, and how to motivate a squad he is supposed to mould into a cohesive unit. Kebe, Stewart, Hunt Nuff said. Let's get rid and prepare for next year as soon as the T/O is agreed.
Just seen the highlights of yesterday's game. We were playing one of the two sides likely to go up in auto. Before the game, I really feared a cricket score. That we took the lead and should have been 2 up before half time shows what we can do when we apply ouselves. That we ended up losing shows that there is still plenty to do. There is nothing to be gained by constantly changing Managers. Let's just hope that the T/O happens this week and we can then concentrate on turning the 'Wall over next weekand then push as high up the league as we can get.
One thing McD has got right. Every interview he praises the support and club to high heavens and a lot of fans have fallen for this mistaking him being a nice guy for a proper manager. I'm all for continuity providing the manager in place is a good one. McD is not. The stats are there for anyone not blinded by his nice guy stuff
Bad runs of form happen, you only sack your manager at every bad run of form if you're intent on failing. There's no sense sacking McDermott. If this is happening again same time next season then I'd understand but for the time being it's just complete madness
Why do you think sacking the manager and going through the same horrible process over again for the next year will stop you getting laughed at? What is another manager going to do that Brian isn't doing?
Our best player last season was young Sam Byram, and even though he was out injured at the start of this season, he's been back ages and hardly starts. Players he spent wedge on don't start, Warnocks team is the backbone of this one because everyone Brian signs sits on the bench (Except Butland and Wickham) So if you dont like the players you sign why sign them??? Young Mowatt isn't ready and may never be ready but another one who is in and out. Why not bring Dawson back into the squad and give him achance instead of bringing in Stewart/Kebe et al. I don't get it and neither do many of us and I still can't get my head around why we carry on putting up with it HOW MANY POINTS FROM THE LAST 17 MATCHES BRIAN? IF THIS WAS THE FIRST 17 GAMES WE WOULD BE MILES FROM EVERYONE ELSE ON THE BOTTOM AND KNOWING WE WERE FOR RELEGATION WITH THIS FORM.
