And I mean in the sense that it's immediate game over for the plane. Anything that goes wrong with the engine should give enough time to call in a mayday.
The engines on this plane didn't explode, it was flying in the air for several hours and deliberately went off course
Incidents like this make you wonder why aviation authorities don't just do the obvious, such as not making it possible for the plane-pilot to turn off it's transponder-communication. It's such a glaring red flag it's amazing they haven't done anything about it for this long, and even after this, they still won't.
Isn't it part of the Islamic faith to be thrown into the water or buried ASAP after death? By throwing him in the water they got to appear to be being sympathetic to his religion whilst ensuring no shrines would be made at his grave.
I am Muslim yes you can get buried as soon as possible after death like the Jews. Getting throw in the water never herd of that!
I suppose it depends if your particular section if the Islamic faith believes ab urial at sea is a burial like ab urial on land.

It was Trevor Phillips. He parachuted onto the back of the plane and hijacked it and has stashed it in his hangar.
They have the ability to track you anywhere in the world with a mobile phone switched off, and they've suddenly lost an aeroplane with advanced communications and hundreds of mobile communication devices on board? There is also a large Chinese and US military presence in the area with advanced satellite and radar systems. Adding to the Malaysian, Vietnamese and other Asian countries. This is government level stuff and we are not privy to this information until they choose to tell the public a version of events they are happy with.
Wasn't the burial at sea thing to not provide a place where his followers could come and worship? If they were smart they'd have buried him in a nice open place and just put tabs on everyone who came there! This plane thing is doing my nut though. It's like being told the start of a good mystery and the story teller getting bored and walking off!

All modern planes have them fitted and manual ones with the crew in the event people need to leave the aircraft.
I'm almost certain now that this plane has been hijacked, landed and is being ransomed out of the eye of the world's media.
I haven't decided what I believe yet, still waiting on more info. But modern planes like this one don't just fall out of the sky and there is no reason for the severe change in course either so there is definitely something we don't know yet.
