In all honesty, KIO, I'd doubt that two goals in a 4-2 loss would have any bearing on Hughton keeping (or not keeping) his job, the result and overall performance would have a greater bearing on his employment, not forgetting that he is still fulfilling his remit of keeping you out of the bottom three. (For the moment)

Still, things could be worse, you could be in the Championship losing at home to the likes of Wigan! <laugh>

    Have a good evening, mate!<ok>

Saw your signature - Rodriguez said in the Saints programme about how The Smths are his favourite band, didn't know he had taste!

Good luck for the rest of the season. You beat Man City on the last day last year, why can't you do something similar this year?

Today's performance was so abject, the worse I've seen all season.

We pulled 2 goals back because the saints were basically asleep by then, we bored them by our movement and tactics. I can't see any evolution or improvement this season, in fact on regression.

For me enough is enough, And I think Hughton has to go whatever the outcome this season.

404 mile round trip, just in !
What a total and utter ****ing shambles!
What ever combination he puts out just doesn't seem to work, the deference were statues at times, midfield did it's usual crab like sideways maneuvers & then poor old Hooper must have felt like he's got herpes the distance he was away from the rest of them !
That's the first time I've seen the crowd turn on Hughton today, we really are deep in the mire now, they looked like a beaten team from the first minute, & don't be under any illusions that the two goals at the end changed anything, as a contest we were never in it.
Sack him now & let DM pick the team, he couldn't do any worse !

"...and probably a little bit angry..."

Like he's not even sure if he's angry or not? Body language says it all, dead man walking.

Interesting the 5 changes he made. That many is bound to effect the team.

Can understand Martin for Whitaker as the Norfolk Cafu has been a bit mixed performance wise, however Whitaker has been poor every time he gets a chance.

Dropping Wes was wrong for me although I like Howson.

Dropping Redmond. I kinda get that but we then have no pace and I think Pilkington flatters to deceive ( get rid in the summer).

Hooper for Wolf, really makes no difference

Bassong for Bennet. Would rather have Bassong. Yes he has been a bit error prone so can understand the decision, but Ryan Bennet is not as good as him.

It does for me, prove we have a lack of quality in the squad , which combined with poor tactics does not bode well.

For next week I would go the following

    Ruddy
    Martin, Bassong Yobo Olsen
    Tettey Howson
    Redmond Wes Jonas
    Hooper

You could stick with Whitaker I suppose for Martin. If Turner is fit he could replace Bassong. Wes or Howson or Bradley Johnson is where we have the conundrum. Which begs the question, does Hughton really know his best team?

That's the key to survival beating Sunderland.Cardiff and Fulham just have too much ground to make up.if we beat Sunderland and go to 32 then we are likely to survive. There are nine teams in it now,all those up to 31.

If we beat both Sunderland and West Brom we are pretty much safe. Easier said than done, however.

At least Hughton still seems to have the ability to pull a result out of somewhere when it matters! Get those two wins and a point in another game, ideally against Swansea or Fulham, and I agree we should be ok.
