Yes. He is called Nani. However. At least he can console himself with his well earned league winners medal. What would Stevie Me do for one of them you reckon?
Dave Excellent comment. The first comment would be something that Roy Hodgson would say.''Ah well,we got beaten by the best team in the league..no shame in that''However,He did say our performance in our 2-0 defeat to Everton was ''our best performance of the season''. Now winners on the otherhand attempt to find chinks in the oppositions armour. They tell their players ''The only time you be nice to the opposition is when you shake their hand at kick-off,from then on in,they are the enemy and you never show the enemy mercy''. Tommy Docherty once said ''There is only two things you get at Anfield..a cup of tea and a beating''.He was right, and it has to go back to that.
Glad to see that you can also appreciate that his over-reaction was childish. Mind you, it was surpassed by that of Ferguson
I swear most articles now end up being about the Champions League final or United's financial situation...
Hey Eric, that's a bit of pot and kettle when you look at the reaction of you mufcock and swarbs on the "buying the title" thread on your board! BTW you are all wrong in your financial appraisals of how much is available and long term profiability
So have most of the sides in history that have gone on to win their respective league and Champions league. How anyone could compare the current Barcelona team with the Ajax team of the 70s I have no idea...
And how do you know that ForeskinDave? The fact that since the Glazers have took over they have overseen the most successful period in United's history and yet you all think we are in decline? We have spent over £35m already this summer on two players with that likely to pass the £50m mark with the Young signing next week. You think we are broke but where is your evidence?
The difference is we are not complaining about it going off topic ? Also please please tell me where my financial appraisal is wrong ?
Exactly that. I just don't like how before the final many Man Utd fans were saying "They're not the best team in the world, they can be beaten etc.. etc.. " As soon as the final ended and it was obvious who the better team was it was all "They're the best team to have ever played football, anyone would have lost against them." One game does not make a team the best team to have ever played.
You talked as if the defeats to Blackpool were just one of those things. Teams come up against smaller teams and struggle from time to time. They are called a bogey side. Liverpool are our bogey side.
Generalising to make a point? Quite poor isn't it. Though you can flip this on it's head and say one game does not mean Ferguson doesn't know what he is doing tactically and that our midfield is laughably weak like most of you point out... It can go either way.
Also I find it laughable whenever there is a debate between United and Liverpool fans on here the Liverpool fans always revert to Barcelona for some reason. Like they are living off the glory that they beat us in the final. That's called glory hunting lads why don't we keep it to United and Liverpool eh?
Most United fans I know acknowledged before the final that Barca are the best team in the world - however they can be beaten. Would you have prefered us to say 'lets not bother they can't be beaten'. It's all about opinion and alot of peoples opinion, for a few years now, are that this Barca side is the best side ever. If you don't agree that's fine but to tar us as arrogant as we think they are is crap. Is Souness arrogant aswell as he thinks they are ?
Always refer to barcelona? If we're going along this route, why don't we keep it to liverpool, considering this is the LIVERPOOL BOARD. I don't recall this article ever inviting you lot to come and have a chat about our 2 clubs.
I said, we might be your bogey side, but I still don't see what you're trying to get at? I never referred to our games...
Don't get me started of Souness... There were quite a few people on the Man United board before the game mouthing off about it, hence my reaction. I don't venture onto the Man United very often, even though I wished to throw it back in their faces, but when they start coming on here bleating about it - it seems rather sad.
Only Liverpool? You might want to tell your fellow fans to stop writing articles about Manchester United then.
Mouthing off about what? That Barcelona can be beaten in a one off game? If you are saying they were claiming United WOULD win then show me the quotes. Otherwise it never happened and you are just generalising.
