Very strange game. Barnsley were poor, but both teams were pretty uninspiring really. Fair play to the singing section for trying to generate some atmosphere though. Flattest 3-0 win I've ever seen, but as I say, strange game.

I have never been happier to see a players number appear on the 4th officials board as today when Luke came on. He is such a promising youngster and gives 150% every training session and match he plays. Its a great reward for his hours of dedication and extra training in the pooring rain after the others have run off into the cafeteria.

Sounds like an end of season game.

Glad we won comfortably, the fact OFH said teno hours plus without conceding at home. Very impressive.

As I can't go to games now some ? for those who do:

Was Anya any good up top?

    How good really is Toszer?

Any rumours of B.S. for next season?

    Cheers in advance. COYH!!

    Anya was okay.
Tószer is a class apart at this level, hope we can keep him for next season.
No idea on th the rumours front though I'd like BS to start next season.

Oh yeah, another totally incompetent numpty in the middle with another flag waving twit on the Rous side. What a weapon. Pathetic.

In my opinion Anya is not playing as well as he was pre call up.

I thought Anya had a good game but seems to have a blind spot regarding Deaney. Several times Deaney was in clear space but did not receive the ball. Heard your drum throughout Dan, I enjoyed the singing well done.

Thanks Charlie. It was a good atmosphere. Both seemed to lack the connection that Forestieri and Deeney have and missed chances to pass to each other.

    Thanks guys.

He was ok, but he seems to be reluctant to use his pace and take the full back on like he used to. Not just yesterday but for a while now. He was playing out of position yesterday but he still had moments where he could have taken his man on an appeared to lack the confidence to do so. I'd still have him in the side though.

    Happy birthday Dan <bubbly><ale><bubbly><ale>

Regardless of whatever else he did in the match, Anya created or significantly contributed to 2 of the three goals - worth his place on that alone.......

I agree. As I said in my post I would still pick him, but I stand by my overall point.

i agree Bloother, he's lost a bit since his call up...but he still is definitely worth playing.

It definitely had a 'this game is an end of season game and doesn't count for anything' atmosphere though the 1881 were the best they've been all season, and not just them but the Rookery too, it was a great atmosphere which made up for what was lacking on the pitch. It's true, 3-0 has never felt quite so uninspiring but hopefully we will just plod through the next few games and find ourelves just outside the playoffs without pressure ;)

Btw, i saw Malky striding through the Rous after the game and there's a pic of him with Sannino...i can't see him coming back but wouldn't it be rather cool to have him and Sannino as 1 and 2 ;)

Malky was sitting almost alongside Vinny Jones. Seemed quite animated but very serious. A few fans stopped for a chat.

Very much an end of season feel about the game though there was occasionally some slicker passing than of late. Toszer oozed class and despite some wrong decision-making Anya kept running all game and helped press Barnsley back in their own half.

From what has been said by the management, Toszer would have to take a massive drop in wages to sign for us.

Not getting used to have consistent decent home form and actually beating teams with some ease (without being at our best at times)

Cracking strike by Battocchio and nice to see Merkel get his goal.

Great to see young Luke get on and put himself about.
