Why is Huddlestone getting slagged off on Twitter?

To me, as someone not a party to Bruce's tactics, it looked very much like he didn't give a ****.

He hasn't been too bad the last few weeks since the match between us.

5 Live were blaming the Cardiff keeper Marshall for Everton's winner earlier. Now that I've seen it, that's incredibly harsh on him.

    Shearer: "I'd take Lambert"
    Savage: "I'd take Carroll"

    Both wrong, especially Savage.

Step forward Jay Rodriguez. Second highest scoring Englishman this season.

To be fair to them, I'm not convinced Rodriguez is in direct competition with Lambert or Carroll (who are in direct competition). Apples and oranges.

No chance. He tripped himself over and Jelavic was just strong.

Can't stand Ramires. He seems to do more of this kind of **** than he plays football. He's always diving, nagging at the ref or stamping like that.

I don't understand how the goal-line system is so accurate. That Fulham one was so close the human eye couldn't possibly tell whether it was in or not. I know when there were companies tendering for the technology there was one that used a chip in the ball. I can understand how that can work but Hawkeye uses cameras, so how the frig do those cameras detect it so quickly? Just don't get it.

    It's great, isn't it?

I think if there was no tech it would've been given.

I thought Shearer's assessment on huddlestone was spot on, far too deep, no effect on the game, looks slow and heavy legged, hope he gets his form back as no player should be guaranteed a place in the team.

Obviously you weren't at the game, as Huddlestone played some great balls, he didn't play badly just too deep at times.

Doesn't mean he hasn't. He said that he didn't think he did, but the article says that he might not have seen it.

Having seen it I think it's just flown out of his mouth through shouting than actually spitting, but only George Boyd knows for sure. Wonder if the F.A. will take a look at it because spitting (if they see it that way) is as low as it gets.

This is it. The problem is that vine video that is being thrown around is in slow motion and has been taken right out of the context.

One of the annoying things about MOTD's coverage is the selectivity. Boyd is drawing a good deal of criticism for what many see as a dive - that's fair enough and it's a trend we all want to see stamped out. However, if they do choose to highlight incidents like that they do also have a responsibility to comment on other similar incidents in the game. For example, in yesterday's match Toure (I think!), produced a spectacular dive on the edge of our area, appealed and was waved away by Lee Mason - if it wasn't a foul it was clearly simulation. At least Lee Mason was consistent in that he didn't issue a card for that just as he chose to let the Boyd incident pass unpunished. However, the BBC does have an editorial responsibility to show a truly representative set of match highlights rather than allowing a rather skewed impression by focussing so much of their coverage on a single example.
Also, I was rather disappointed at not seeing the disallowed Meyler "goal" - it was a cracking finish by him but there didn't seem to be much argument from the (Hull) City players when it was disallowed for offside. Would have been good to see again.
