Pleased with the result. Are Saints in danger of being called "Flat-Track" bullies as we have beaten most of the teams below, some of them twice yet have managed a paltry 6 from those above!! Need to beat at least one of Everton, Spurs or Manchester United for that label to disappear. That aside, who in August 2009 would have anticipated the position right now. Very happy. Now to conquer the peaks!!
No I disagree. I thought we were good for 10 minutes and then stopped. Norwich were very, very poor today. If we'd been 'at' it all through the first half we could have rattled several passed them.
Watching Sky choice, and when Lala went off, his right knee looked a bit of a mess, Rickies finish was exquisite.
Those two Norwich goals were embarrasing to say the least, Fonte and JWP for the first, and Guly for the 2nd, so careless it was farcical, hope they learn not to be so complacent in the future, and well done Sam, right man right place, we can do with that more often up front.
Someone needs to tell Mr Friend that he no longer needs to look to his assistant when checking whether the ball is over the line.
I think that game showed why we are eighth and not 18th or 1st. We can play better football than most teams in the league, but let ourselves down with silly errors. All teams make errors, but the top ones make fewer. We have rarely played badly, but have gifted points to other teams. Looking at the table, we are better than those below us, but can have no argument with those above us. The challenge for next season is to maintain our quality, but cut out enough mistakes to make the top 6. Progress will be harder now, but I'm sure we're up for it.
Don't be. Perception is often skewed when you watch things 'real-time' and from only one angle, in the heat of the moment. Hence why I'm amazed when some people refuse to consider the value of stats to back up what they think they saw at the time
Excellent season, could've done much better. Given a few sloppy goals away due to underhit/Mis-judged passing, and there are a number d game where would should've picked up a hell of a lot more points overall.
I think he was just checking with the assistant that Big Sam hadn't got offside when SD passed it to him. The watch would have confirmed the ball had crossed the line.
