I thought we were good for the first 10 minutes, then until Lambert came on, looked average. Norwich were poor bar a few minute spell, and we gifted them two goals. Pleased that we scored 4 goals, 3 of them without Lallana on the pitch, and Lambert played really well. Gallagher did an awful shot but it still sneaked in, pleased for him! Guly still can't score and I thought he looked a little lost when he came on.
Well done Sam, thank goodness for technology, because from where I was sitting it didn't appear to be over the line! At least it made the score look better. I thought it was nice of Norwich to keep the game interesting and that's the nearest I have seen to a 'homer' Referee all season. Artur sems to have been to the Kelvin Davis school of clearances, the loudest cheer of the day was when he managed to get one straight in the right direction. I am happy enough, three points, up a place, skate lost and I had a lovely fish and chip supper, doesn't get much better than this, but I am willing to try.
Gastons injury was just a nasty cramp, just needs more games to get loose, not sure about Dejan, I wonder if he will do interviews with a higher pitched voice?
Gallagher's shot wasn't awful, it was nearly a good save from Ruddy. His first touch was poor but he just got his shot away. Really pleased for him though-will do his confidence all sorts of good!
Fair enough, think Ruddy deserves some credit for closing down the angles. At least his went in, unlike Guly's!
Angle of dangle I guess, no doubt about it in the Referees eyes that's what matters. I will enjoy it on Match 5 of MoD!
I'm not sure the manner of Gallagher's goal matters. The fact he scored one will do wonders for his confidence in front of goal.
This sentence is a mindfuck - Future Echoes That 1st goal was sublime football from Saints and the type of goal we've been threatening all season, but sadly it was the only bit of brilliance from a pretty drab 1st half. Norwich were all at sea for the 1st 10 minutes and I thought we would win at a canter but a combination of sloppy play at the back from Saints and Norwich setting their shape and working hard to press led to a stalemate. Two similar chances probably summed up the match. In the 1st half after Saints gave the ball away, Norwich worked it to Hooper at the top of the penalty area to the right of goal. He opted for power and it crashed against the side netting. Second half on comes Lambert and within seconds the ball drops for him (after Gaston challenged for a header) in the same position. Ask me to bet at that point and I would have said he would have tried to blast it like Hooper, but instead he fools me and the defender by cutting on to his left foot and sliding it past Ruddy. Cool as a cucumber from a man out of form and on a mini goal drought. Think the last 10 minutes has been covered
