I'm not saying we'll go down, and it's still in our own hands to stay up

But if we do go down, who goes?

Ki, Alonso, Celuksta and Borini would all go back to their parent clubs
Gardner, Colback, Larsson, Westwood, Cuellar, Dossena, Vergini, Ustari and Bardsley - all their contracts are expiring. Ustari, Vergini and Bardsley the only ones I can see staying

Takes our total up to 13 players leaving

Then who else would leave? Mannone? Johnson? Cattermole?

Point being it will be a very busy summer if we go down. What ****e transfer dealings we've done over the years, it needs to change. If we stay up or not

I trust in poyet, but now is not the time to bring this up. A draw isn't the worst result after 4 games of defeats, we had a clean sheet too. It's just a shame we didn't win, would have had the lads & fans on a high for the next game

Aye! Really upsetting that we have had the time and structure to establish ourselves as a solid premier league team! However it seams that every transfer window we happen to feel the need for at least 5 players! At the end of every season we always seem the need to rebuild! We have spent millions more that most premier league sides and its getting us nowhere apart from the constant struggle for survival! Something is seriously wrong! Other teams have spent far less, but have more stability! The way things have been relegation is bound to hit us sometime! We got away with it last year! I hope we get away with it this year! But I can only see another struggle next season if we stop up! Unless things change, relegation will grab us eventually! Things just seem to have been run very sloppily from top to bottom!

It's far too early for threads like this. Let's worry about that when the time comes.

Exactly, been in the premier league, what? 7 years? And we have never progressed, it's not like we haven't spent money, broken our transfer record 3 or 4 times since we've come up.

Southampton are miles ahead of us in terms of squad quality and we've been in the division far longer than they have.

Very disappointing, and it must change this summer

This thread isn't necessarily about us going down, I was highlighting the fact we're gonna have to buy 10+ players in the summer once more. We've been ****ing awful in the transfer market, last year we just about stayed up, this year might be the year where we finally have to pay the price of paying over the odds for **** players, who in no way fit into the managers system

Number of years in the league is irrelevant. It's all about the right signings, the right squad, and the right manager. We haven't been able to put the 3 together for some time now.

We pay over the odds because that is the only way we can attract them

I disagree, over 7 years you think we could put together a squad of premier league quality players, right now we have a squad filled with Championship players.

And players like Larsson and Cattermole are worse than last season, and who is Ustari by the way?, i am sending my non-renewel letter in so that is it for me, and passing the ball sidewards and backwards drives me daft. Untill a top manager and massive rebuilding takes place i won't go back. We need about 3 wins and but where will they come from?, Palace are the worst side we have played since we got promoted, and we go 3 points adrift today how the hell has this continued season after season.

Do you think the ones that stay will be good enough to bring us straight back up at the end of the season?

If you go down, hopefully Ki will come back to us along with Poyet as manager, as we are in a ****ing mess at the moment.

Given the number that will leave for free, how much extra will Short have to stump up for to do so or be willing too?
