Monk won't go for one big reason - it would make the board look like a bunch of clueless idiots.

despite our 2nd half capitulations against Palace and West Brom theres been a general improvement in performances under Monk. Whether he is the right man for the job is open to debate, i think he needs more time working under an experienced manager but whatever happens its definately too late to change manager now

But isn't that a correct analysis of the board?

We need to appoint the right manager and not just rush into things! I believe the reason why we are in this situation is because of rash decisions, we must now not try and solve the problem with another rash decision. I think monk and his team do have enough to stay up, only because I think the task ahed for some of the other teams are too much now.

    It's between IMO

    Fulham
    Cardiff
    Norwich
    Palace
    Sunderland

I'd bring him in just to advise as it's clear to see the backroom staff couldn't advise a 5 year old.

Well today as a whole was poor and I include the first half in that statement , we scored then huffed and puffed for long periods in the 1st half and looked more than shaky at the back on number of occasions .our passing was poor ,and a lack of movement made it look pedestrian at times , Routledge played some lovely balls into the area just in front of the keeper but no one was willing to take a chance ,Collectively we were shocking and no one can come out of that game with any credit ,the Board maybe with more luck than judgement have steered the club to the where we are now but one poor decision can undo all that hard work to date .Don't be under any illusions that we're too good to go down because we're not ,if we continue to put in performances like we have recently than next years shirt will have a different badge on the sleeves.

Have we the supporters and the board been naive in thinking that a former player/captain can suddenly become a successful manager in the Premiership overnight? I think not. What has happened today and against Palace is that at half time the opponents coach having watched the first half, changes things around. This come with the experience and knowledge of today's manager and Tony Pulis. What we do at half time is to say much of the same.
Surely we should be more cunning and change our game plan? Plan B for instance. Sadly that comes with experience and when we needed to change things around quickly the coach was found wanting? No plan B
Tim SHERWOOD at Spurs similar situation?
The season is becoming a nightmare and where the blame lies is for another time, what we must do as genuine/good supporters is to get behind our team and fight like hell to keep us in the Premiership. As far as the players are concerned they must individually decide if they are up for the fight.

Of course, as entertaining as it would be to see him defend Garry Monk and that inept performance, Dai's view will be irrelevant of course as he wasn't at the Liberty.

Totally disagree about carrying on with this inept, joke of a manager. Monk will take us down for sure. The board must have been scouting and know someone available. Relegation would be a catastrophe for the city. There certainly needs to be an inquest after this season and the board needs freshening as well. If no one else is available Curt must step up, Monk should pick his things up tomorrow morning!

With Dyer , Shelvey and especially Chico missing , coupled with the pressure of a "must win " scenario , I am not surprised by the outcome frankly . This won't be the time to sack another manager , let Monk and his players dig deep together to get us out of the "Board Created Mess ".

If its a player thing then why did we sack Laudrup ?

because surely what you have said there could have been said of the West Ham game that resulted in us sacking a decent manager for a player who had the chairmans ear .

Monk is out of his depth but i dont specifically blame him,i blame the board for putting him in there. What people dont seem to realise is that Laudrup was evolving our systems of play to make us less predictable. If you dont modify in this league your done for .

Im not saying Laudrup always got it right but people are failing to see the real reasons as to why we were playing slightly different. One moron on here said it himself "he is taking us away from our style of football"

Not true,he was trying to modify it and make us less predictable!!

"our identity was being eroded" when i heard that pearler from our chairman i knew we were doomed. What Monk has done is return us to a system that was busted at prem league level after the first 5 months of Rodger reign !!

Now people are finally able to see why it is important to play narrow as well as wide! something Laudrup was trying to make us adapt to. Rodgers knew our system was fooked after 5 months ,it was one of the reasons he was so keen to leave, Laudrup came in and modified it, this season he tried to modify it further with mixed results, but maybe, just maybe the results would not have been so mixed if he was allowed to sign the players HE wanted and not what the club wanted.

We had the perfect chance to build something special here at Swansea but a combination of some senior players bending the chairmans ear and the board beleiving they're own hype and getting inflated ego's has ensured this mess is big enough to send us down to the championship without even a fight !

A fooking shambles from top to bottom .

Nobody is perfect, but it is totally unforgivable to let personal issues and gossip influence a multi million pound buisness to the point where its taken to collapse/relegation .

Laudrup took flak for wanting to progress the clubs style even the thickest of fans can see that if you dont change in this league your done for. Most clubs can afford to buy a game changing player but we cant do that, Laudrup was making these small adjustments so that the likes of Palace and WBA were tactically short against us.

These same teams get the measure of us after 45 mins , say what you like about Laudrup but he very rarely got out thought in a game 2nd half, that meant that the opposition were usually one step behind him, you are now seeing the difference with a dunce like Monk in control of the bench and tactics.

Playing "the swansea way" is a totally daft concept without the right tactical approach and ability to modify systems within a game, if i know this how the fook doesnt Garry Monk and the board ??

    Muppets mun !

The fact is that this season under Laudrup, we beat both Palace and West Brom away. At home under Monk we held on for a draw in one and lost the other.
