What a surprise. It wasn't possible for me to watch the 2nd half. Checking my phone for updates. I'm shocked to read the result of this match. Sacking Monk is not an option with 9 games left. Longing for Laudrup is ridiculous, now. (He's having a laugh somewhere though). What are proper actions taken from now on. Monk has proven his passion and hart for the club. But he's also shown us incompetence ant tactical naivite. What is the board suppoed to do? They've shown they can act, but how will they now mop up their errors?
I was thinking of employing somebody to help Monk out -----> like Meulensteens original role in Fulham. Doing nothing now will just make relegation a certainty.
Carry on with the same ? sorry it's not working ,tactically exposed today and v Palace .we can't compete against big physical sides who press high and today WBA had 4 recognised centre halfs across the back line ,how many times did Lamah get in behind their right back ? Routledge was skinning their left back for fun but no one was willing to take a chance in the box when the ball was whipped in .Very disappointed and to be honest I can't see points coming our way for the next two games where as before today I was confident of a point both at Arsenal and Everton but now we have to wait until Norwich to come to the Liberty to have a chance of anything and if we couldn't beat a scratch WBA side then what chance against a Norwich side who traditionally we've found it hard to get anything so potentially we could be in for a long wait before/if we climb the table .
My point is, there is nothing we can do there is not enough time! So we must try and not panic and **** ourselves up more than we have! Hopefully monk and the team will learn their lessons from today and be able to move on!
All ready f**ked ourselves, we're a poor side who got beat today by a poorer side and that sums it all up.
I hope you're right but if the players can't be arsed (which a few gave that impression) then why? and if true, is Monk the man to motivate them ,if it's tactically he's the man with the plan but it's not working ,performances like today can go either way , the next game it's played out of their system or it's the start of a run of poor performances and thats the worry ,we don't as you've posted, have enough games left if its the latter .
I don't think we're a poor side, just a side without the right man at the helm! I also just had a text from someone who has links with the club (not 100% accurate all the time) that Ash and Monk have had real disagreements after palace????? Anyone heard something similar?
If that's true then that's possibly the second manager he has complained about/challeneged in the past 12 months (if all rumours are to be believed). Time to get rid of this liability in the summer and bring in a couple of defenders who know how to defend, as Bony is our best defender when we are defending at set pieces and throw ins etc.
He wants to start earning his money ,he wears the armband so start showing some leadership , he spent a lot of time today looking down at his boots for some reason ,unless he was knackered of course
Dunno how true but when someone that used to be a peer gets promoted into power, there is always tension because of the new powers.
I notice this a lot in the Premier (not just from Ash)...affected behaviour for the benefit of the TV cameras. Not healthy to be thinking of how you look to others all the time....they should be in the moment, only thoughts you should have are about ****ing over the opposition.
Don't want to be a 3 managers in one season sort of club. Destabilising in the extreme. Appointing an advisor/director of football just undermines him. We're just going to have to hope and pray we make it before appointing somebody competent at the end of the season. The new man needs to be backed by the board in sorting out this player power nonsense but I doubt this will happen based on our board's recent actions. The board need to get their head around the fact that they've ****ed up big style on the whole Laudrup/Monk thing and change course away from Monk/Ash and the boys etc.
Monk must stay and get us over the finish line , it's our best chance at survival now. Changing to a 3rd manager would be suicide imo. # 1 problem now , confidence. We need to take a big scalp from our next 2 games to kick start our survival run. What a nightmare that has overtaken our dreams . Disheartened and confused explains my thoughts but still think we will pull out of this
