I have read that Coyle is wanting him on loan again Chelsea i think would accept £15-£20m, i think in todays climate i say spend the whole of Hendersons money on Sturridge and we will have had a good deal.
This still means we have the Bent money to spend and i think if we bought N'Zog and spent £6m on Roger Johnson from Birmingham (Wolves have bid £7m i think), Reo Coker is out of contract and available on a free i would be quiet happy with these signings.

What a force and mouthfull this would be N'zog to N'gog back to N'zog who crosses for N'gog to hit the winner against the scum lol

Im afraid we probably need too many bodies through the door to take a gamble on youth and a huge chunk of our budget.

Im going to stand by my decision that we need an older, PL experienced central midfielder. Why we let Zenden go I will never understand.

Because Zendon was past it in my opinion for regular Premiership football Sturridge is a class above Wellbeck in my opinion and well worth buying

If Henderson is worth 20m then Sturridge certainly is

As someone else says though we probably need 2many players in this transfer window to go after someone for 20m, hopefully this will be the last transfer window were we bring in aload of players and we can focus on one or two quality ones each transfer window

    Sturridge, Johnson and N'Zog?

    I'd be absolutely cock-a-hoop.

Add Hutton, and we are ready to go.

N'Gog and Bothroyd as the cover, and i'd be genuinely content.

Westwood, Larsson, R.Johnson, Hutton (although no rumours have actually surfaced about him) Vaughan, DJ Campbell, N'Gog, N'Zog, O'Shea(?).

This would be a promising start, with one or two more in permanently, and a couple of loan signings just to be safe.

Its not looking good for Bolton have you seen their first 7 games.

    QPR A
    Man City H
    Liverpool A
    Man Utd H
    Norwich H
    Arsenal A
    Chelsea H

Looks like they will be loosing Cahill, elamador has gone. No Sturridge who pretty much carried them towards the end of last season unless they can re sign him.

IIRC they have allot of debt and not much money to sign new players.

35million debt IIRC. Worse than us! Players like Elmander were on stupid wages, they also forked out over 10million to buy him, and let him go for nothing.

If we don't even try to get the likes of Sturridge, well expect mid table at best.

Sturrige is fantastic, and well if we;re happy with Gog etc, don't expect to much, and be happy with your lot.

No complaining later, about if we went for ????????

Players like Sturridge ARE the way forward.

Im sure we COULD get Sturridge if we stumped up the money. I just think not many clubs are going to offer 15-20million for a relatively unknown entity.

Maybe we could, but if not it's a message of intent...

So far we have been linked with numerous players, but not one that makes you think. yes we mean business..

That doesnt mean we aren't going after good players. That just means that gossip columns and Twitter (99% Bollocks) haven't said we are.

I remember about a month ago there was a feeling of relaxation, that who you're linked with shouldn't matter, because its all speculation anyway. But now I think purely because we haven't signed anyone yet, even a grain of hope in a rumour is enough!

Sturridge is quality and has bags of potential to boot. Most of the lads we've been linked with so far are not names that will have season ticket sales through the roof. Very average players most of them, but alas, I'm hoping much of the rumours are a load a crap. We need quality, good premiership quality. Ngog- never proved it, Won- never proved it, Vaughn-one semi decent season, Gibson- long term substitute as are Brown and O'Shea, Westwood done nowt in the prem. I'm not being a doom merchant but other than mere numbers boosting the squad, I don't see much quality boosting our entertainment value. My season ticket is renewed and i'll be going, but I'm praying that we don't repeat our last 6 months. But I fear if we only sign the above players who we've constantly been linked with, we may well have a big dip once again.

A can understand your point iam, however, imo the scumbags had average players but average players who gave 100% committment and passion for the badge. If we can get that (only bardo last season) with a couple of quality signings to supplement sess, gyan etc & steer clear of injuries i can see another improvement on 10th.
    Ffs I hope i'm right.
