Believe me mate none taken, but like you I will defend my opinions.
Most of the time I can do it without abusing a fellow Mackem.
As for the no fear of relegation bit erm?
Back end of the season I was all twitchy bum again.
And I hate that, by now with the investment made, I honestly expected us to be a comfortable mid-table team.
Then being a total optimist moving up a gear this season.

As I stated in my OP my son was all for Bruce from the start and that belief has decreased over the ensuing seasons.

I got abused and made out I was using my son to have a pop at Bruce.

Anyone who has read half of the drivel I usually write knows I NEVER thought Bruce was the man for SAFC.

And IMHO so far I have been right.

Not that my opinion means much granted but I think we played some fantastic football at times last season. Some of our one touch stuff was brilliant to watch but like ANY other team...it's nigh on impossible to keep it up through out a very long season. Personally I don't think we have ever had it so good in all my 36 years supporting them but that's not to say we should settle for what we have and not aim higher.
Also the injury nightmare we had was a massive hinderance to us! As for Bent leaving...why keep a player who doesn't want to play for us?
Re the youngins of today, kids have more things to do in their spare time on a weekend than we had when we were young mebbies? I also think the us older fans are probs more loyal than the younger generation?

There's definitely a girl I have never met her, 3 bonny lasses knocked on for him the other day.

Of course I asked which one he was seeing and all I got was that "Kevin" look. :p

Mind you back in the day lasses always came second to Sunderland for me. <ok>

Fair points mate, I still think we threw games away that were perfectly winnable.
And there were games with a full squad out, where they looked as if they hadn't spoken to each other before never mind played together.
WE were more lucky than skilful in others, and our tactics both attacking and defending set pieces has been woeful the whole season.
Whether I should be passionate or not about the derbies.
Those performances against the Mags were inexcusable.

That Chelsea game was the highlight of the season for me, we played so damn well and deserved the plaudits from the Chelsea camp.

    blah blah

Cestria...you're well acknowledged as one of the vets of this board but honestly, your attitude since we sold Henderson has been abysmal. Have some faith in your club, and stop calling it a selling club constantly. Yes we sold Bent (didnt want to be here) and yes we've sold Henderson (not in the slightest worth anywhere near £20m), time to get over it.

I think it's just cos we've (and I'm only 34) been in a lot worse positions than we are now. It's frustrating for everyone and ripping into each other doesn't really help
