Maybe it's back to British players improve the team, players who know our divisions inside out where the foregners look good but ultimately are outmuscled? Bloody gutting though that average Prem standard British players tend to cost over £15million !!
It seems very generous. One bookie has us 14-1. Consensus seems to be Fulham almost definitely down, Cardiff next, then 3rd spot between Palace, Sunderland, WBA and Norwich. All others are safe according to the betting. But Norish's next 4 matches are against Sunderland, us, WBA and Fulham. So teams around us are going to be picking up points for sure. £100 at 14-1 would give a nice return. I'm tempted, but probably won't.
What we now have to ask ourselves is this, Who are the three worst teams in this league? Cardiff lost again while Sunderland drew, and Fulham beat Newcastle, with Sunderland having 2 games in hand we could well get sucked into the dog fight now, and our players are simply not up for it!..........
Glad somebody else has been thinking the same as me as there are to many Spanish players in the team/squad who are not 'tough' enough to hack it out in this division. They also seem to lack the passion and fight when the going gets tough.
Whoever are in the bottom three and we are bloody close to it. Should have got Poyet in before he went to Sunderland if the board were unhappy with Laudrup at that point. Hell a few of us mentioned that he would be an ideal manager for us.
The team and club are clueless . Monk is NO premier league manager were well and truly devoid of ideas, I feel that we are now going down and the down side to that will be, that the board will appoint monk as manager with us then being a championship club. Well done board, great decision.
As the song says, "We're **** and we know we are" ****ing clueless the lot of them, and they don't have the stomach for a fight either. We're going down with a wimper!!
I am not convinced any manager would do better, some players are just dreadful and one of the main culprits has been Ashley Williams. He needs to stop talking to journalists and spend an extra few hours in training every day!
after the Europa exertions and the way we crumbled against Palace then it was hardly a bullshit excuse. today however was a different story, we were well rested and on the 1st half performance we were well on top but in the 2nd we were dreadful. no excuses there just no urgency, no tempo and no real belief that we could get back in the game after they scored - that is very worrying and we now need something from Everton and Arsenal
Well I must disagree with you never, while Monk tactically is still a raw Rookie, I think we are saved by the fact that there are at least 3 more teams worse than us, so I'm not worrying about going down, but our players had better get off their arrogant arses, and start putting in performances for 90 minutes, today's game was thrown away by us second half, and we should have buried WBA by at least 3 goals first half, simply not good enough with the final ball in front of goal!.....................
...but it does prove it was a bullshit excuse as todays 'well-rested' performance was no better than when we were apparently knackered.
We did today, but not against Liverpool or Napoli first game?? We'll do it, but it looks likely to get rough before the end!.....................
I still think (pray) that we can escape the drop! But it's looking clear to me now that the players didn't like laudrups methods after being loved and hugged by Brendan. Man motivation isn't **** if you don't have the tactics to back it up. I don't need my boss to praise me all the time for me to perform. Don't get me wrong I do like monk and think he may become a great manager but he needs to be able to learn his lessons in a lower league where it's more forgiving. This isn't a simple wind up it's my opinion.
I think he found his new club in the summer when the Arsenal rumours were abound, however a club didn't find him as I believe they were nothing more than that. Since then he has been mistake prone and less of a leader during the games. Now I do have some good news lads, the new 7.1 update for iPhone 4S has made this site faster!
we`ll have to agree to disagree Stereo! for me fatigue was a valid excuse for the Palace game but like i said no excuses for today and Monk has to get a grip and the players need to pull together from now on in
We played well against Liverpool and Napoli because they allowed us to , we can't compete against big physical teams who press us high especially where now we seem to fade badly in the second half ,out muscled and with no desire by a few to get hurt when going for a tackle .
