The players ****ing hate it!!!! <laugh>

It is strange, kind of like practice kits for footballers have sleeveless options when the weather is warm but when you play, it is always with sleeves. It is the opposite for B-ball.

Got to make sure your tattoos are seen! <laugh>

My lads [both married adults now] have always, and still do, play basketball, they think it's odd! I'm not sure it will take off across the conferences.

    Ya highly doubt it.

This thread could go for so many different countries. If I said, for example, anyone from the Yugoslav nations...... the list would be endless! Mijatovic, Sukur, savicevic, etc. Dutch- davids, kluivert, bergkamp, overmars, etc Argentine- Ayala, Riquelme, ortega, aimar, batigol.

There are a lot of Africans and Brazilians believe it or not that are getting Russian citizenship. By the time we get to Russia in 2018 I can see a fair few Brazilians in the national team. The futsal team is loaded with them.

That seems really odd, especially considering the racism in Russia/Russian sport.

Very but have a look at the teams. CSKA, Spartak, Lokomotiv, Rubin Kazan, etc chalk full of both demographics. The starting 5 for the Russian futsal national team had Cirillo ( surinamese, right outside of Brazil), Robinho, Eder Lima, were the stars. I almost threw Zenit in there but apart from Hulk they don't ahve many but that club is very racist.

What does that mean? You mean to tell me yugoslavs <yikes> like Mijatovic, Sukur(who?) were similar caliber to the Brazilians mentioned in here? Or Kluivert? Or Aimar, Ortega, Riquelme? Can't be serious, certainly.

You could do a top players list for countries like Holland, countries that were part of the former Yugoslavia nation ( Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, etc), France, etc and come out with a list of legends and list of those who were looked over.

If Yugoslavia had remained together, they would have a consistent top 10 team in the world, no doubt about it. Not comparing those countries to Brazil, each one has it's own set of stars and its own set of players you could admire.

Similar calibre? Where did that come from? No, just the best from their respective countries.

Just reacting to the fact that 7 of the players BCR mentioned there... are the sort of material that shouldn't rush anyone to any nostalgia list.

You maybe not. It depends on your age. Players mentioned like Batistuta and Sukur, for example, are hugely successful players - you may not know them but most footie fans probably do <ok>
