Weird one this. It almost feels too easy and we've got complacent which could well let them back in the game with a sucker punch goal. Don't like it. We need to be ruthless.
Difficult to understand you point when you don't have one. I merely suggested that Ramirez was motivated by the World Cup. You made the assumption that it was his only motivation.
Agreed. We haven't created a vast amount since that good early spell and we're trying to be a bit too clever at the back. Norwich haven't looked great and we should definitely have a bigger lead.
Yes, and I said that if I was incorrect in reading your implication then I apologise. Your point came across as a bit of a dig which I thought was unfair. If it wasn't, then yes, I apologise. Which bit is it that you're struggling with yourself? Ultimately you can think he's playing well because of the upcoming World Cup, I can think it's because he's settling into the club and is enjoying some good form. Either way, he was one of our brighter sparks that half, let's just enjoy that.....
Norwich's pressing is starting to cause problems; we're having difficulty moving the ball forward, as we did in the match at Carrow Road (which remains one of the few times this year that I'd consider us to have been disrupted from playing our style). Whether they can create chances remains to be seen, but they've turned it into a game played between the boxes, which probably suits them better.
Norwich's inability to create chances is a relief, because we're not actually moving it about very well. Winning on account of the opposition being a bit crap, much like the Palace game.
In all honesty you've made yourself look stupid. Back to the game, pretty scared that Norwich are growing into this. Would really like another goal please saints
Really sloppy at the back, and that's leading Norwich to press and now the press is preventing our attack. Need to get that straightened out or we will lose this game. On the plus side, a simple fix and we could easily win this 3-0.
It's crap. Complacent beyond belief. I don't even think it is their pressing either. Quite a few lazy balls and fannying around. I'd be spitting feathers at them at half time. Right. I'll get another cold one out the fridge and calm down ;-)
Since a very impressive first fifteen, we have looked like we are playing in a practice match...come on lads let's get a bit more intensity and speed Oh and can someone teach AB to kick the damn ball to someone wearing a red strip!
Agreed; as we should well know, having done it to many others, when there are three opposition players pressing your back four every short pass portends danger if you don't get it right, and we got a few wrong. If we can get the ball moving forward quickly there will be space, and we have the personnel on the pitch to run them ragged, as we did early in this one. But if we keep inviting them on to the back four, we're always one mistake from wiping out all of that dominance in possession.
Boruc's long balls have definitely not been good but I don't care. They won't beat us starting from throw-ins from the halfline. It's the sloppy backpassing/passing amongst the final four and bad giveaways. Just clear the ball, then we can press and take it away and operate in their half.
With the amout of throw ins that Shaw takes, someone should show him how to do a long throw into the box. Bring in Delap for a masterclass
