Vettel was faster by about an average of 0.4, but then that was in dry yesterday when Vettel seemed happier with the car. He should be about equal with Alonso by my calculations.
But what was his straight line speed? With the Renault engine he may have a tough time passing Raikkonen & Button.
I think I'll stay out of any thread that has either Vettel's or Hamilton's name in the title tomorrow... prepare for trollness.
Hulkenberg p7, again showing why he should have gone to Mclaren or Ferrari. Lotus would have been a merked decision.
Well it's like a wounded animal and you are the predator waiting for the kill, it will happen because you know somebody will not be able to contain themselves. Anyway even as a Seb fan I've said since the start that underestimating Daniel is stupid as past records mean nothing to the present. Alonso fans felt Hamilton would be a walkover, Hamilton fans felt Button would be a walkover and yet both got a decent serving of humbling during that period together. I'm glad I was proven correct in minding my manners that all drivers are close in ability and "walk overs" are highly unlikely in F1. Good to see Ricciardo giving a kick in the backside for Seb they have the second best car at the moment and it will help Seb go up another level to defeat that after having Webber in his pocket for so long.
It's one qualifying session that was a bit of a lottery. Who knows what we'll see tomorrow or in the coming races. As I've said over winter, Anybody would be foolish to underestimate Vettel and RBR.
Well yeah the RB10 has hardly been dialled in to even 50% of what the driver wants after doing nothing in testing so it's going to take a while until you can see which driver is best with the Red Bull when it's finally been understood in what it can fully do. Red Bull more than most IMO as after race 3-4 Seb might out qualify Daniel at every qualifying session there and then as they are so behind in car development.
I hope it's dry tomorrow because if it is wet then it's almost guaranteed that a red flag will come out. In mixed conditions I think Ricciardo has the edge at the front.
So Red Bull ****ed around with Sebs mappings from FP2 into FP3 and eventhough he complained and was struggling with it Daniel still in the original was not having problems at all during FP3 they still didn't change it back for qualifying for Vettel yet Horner admits the performance was ****ed from the off??? Not a smart start by Red Bull for Seb's season.
Great quali well worth getting up for. What is clear is that the 2014 F1 season will see driver ability as key and for those drivers who have been enjoying superior d/force over the rest for the last few years may well be exposed in 2014. Cream will always rise to the top.
Worse things to come? Connor ‏@cmckinleyF1 4m Sebastian Vettel and Kevin Magnussen have been called to the stewards for allegedly failing to slow for yellow flags during Q2 #F1
