I don't think he will, I think our only hope is redknapp has had enough, I mean he's in his 70s so surely he'd want to retire than do a job he doesn't like. Mind you, he took the saints job even though he knew he'd be hated.
Hello sb_73 - I think I may owe you an apology here; I was thinking back to your post on my Tony Fernandes thread from last week (the one where I posted up a link to a critical assessment made via a blog by David McIntyre). I took from this that you were quietly pragmatic about the situation. I especially liked your 'enjoy the ride' sentiments, sprinkled with some candour; 'we're going there anyway'! COYRs!
I could understand it if we had a squad of teenagers and early 20s but it is a perplexing that we seem to be forever chasing 30 somethings.
Exactly, I don't think Redknapps biggest fans could even think he is the man to build a squad for the future. He doesn't do coaching and doesn't believe tactics are important, he thinks you win matches by just buying better players and throwing them out there. We can all see how thats turning out, not just in the results but in the slowness and cluelessness of our play.
Well said. I think we can separate the situation with HR with progress toward rebuilding the club. These players plus the announcements on training ground and stadium are the bright spots. However, I'm with others in that its hard to see how Redknapp now goes forward with the project.
Harry knows what its like to have your pants pulled down - Kevin Bond was as much use to him as he is now - he needed the services of Joe Jordan, or Rosie to straighten those guys out:- I've been mugged! Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is robbed in street on Spanish scouting trip please log in to view this image Harry Redknapp has revealed he was âmuggedâ before watching transfer target Diego Forlan play for Atletico Madrid against Real Madrid on Thursday night. The Tottenham boss was approaching Atleticoâs Vicente Calderon Stadium with his assistant, Kevin Bond, when thieves took a substantial amount of cash and all Redknappâs credit cards. The 63-year-old held on to his mobile phone and passport, which was in his shirt pocket. Redknapp said: âHe (Forlan) is an interesting player, a good player. But it was difficult to concentrate on the game, because I got mugged before the game. I got my pockets picked. Unbelievable. âIâm walking round the outside of the stadium and itâs a fantastic atmosphere. There are little stalls there selling sweets. âI got some sweets and the next thing I felt someone pull my overcoat. There are two guys on their knees in front of me and theyâve got my trousers and they keep pulling them. âI thought, âWhat are you doing?â The next thing heâs got keys on the floor and I thought, âIs he blind?â Iâm going, âLet go of my trousersâ , pushing them away, and while Iâm doing that theyâre rifling my pockets. There were about six of them. âKevin said, âI saw them do itâ. And I thought, âWell, why didnât you do something about it?â âThey took everything. All my money, credit cards, everything really. It was amazing. If you ever go, just be careful.â Redknapp and Bond left the match early. Redknapp decided not to inform the police. He said: âI donât think they (the thieves) knew who I was. They probably thought, âHeâs not Spanish, obviously, and weâre looking for a foreignerâ. âBut they had a result. I said they would be in a restaurant, drinking the best wine and having the best steak. Me and Kevin didnât have enough money for a glass of wine.â http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...arry-Redknapp-mugged-Spain-scouting-trip.html
On its own yes, but you can easily count many more bad decisions. We need 16 new players, with redknapps strike rate, that will mean we get 12 awful players who will be on huge wages. Getting 1 good player in 4 is an abysmal rate when you pay the best wages by far. You'd expect from from Donny or yeovil paying 3k a week, not more than ten times that.
Yes very. Unless we are in a big cash crisis Arry should have been moved out weeks ago - at latest after Leeds. Only hope I have is a home defeat to Yeovil may push the Board to finally make the correct decision too late, as they did with Hughes.
Just occasionally some of us like to look at the positives mate. Just picture the scene in the summer, Redknapp's gone, players like Zamora and Benayoun are gone, and we have a nice shiny new manager with a vision for the future in place to sign some young and hungry players to supplement those mentioned by Beth. You never know, it may happen.
If we look back to before the season started I think we'd have been pleased with 4th at this stage of the season - keep the faith!
totally agree Peru, but Ive just given up pointing that out id have been happy not to get relegated this season with the mess our team is in.
Id rather be 6th or 7th and playing like wigan than 4th, with 1 win in 7 and our best players out injured.
