Their argument at the end was that they would sell the club because they have their "hands tied". You can't own a club when you can't do what you want with it. They have invested their personal wealth into the club, they should be able to make decisions for what they perceive as the best. I think that is a fair representation of their argument. The question is whether you accept that. I think a lot of people probably do. I think that a lot of people who go to watch Hull City would (perhaps slightly reluctantly) say fair enough. Then, a lot of people would also broadly accept that - but think that the Hull Tigers thing is a bit too far - mainly because it wouldn't actually have a good impact. So they think, yes, the Allams are good because they put their money in, and they should be able to make business decisions, but the name change is just an ill-advised decision that they shouldn't go with. I completely disagree with those positions. For me, the name change is wrong, but it is only a small part of what is wrong about club ownership - and I couldn't care less whether the name change would be successful or not. Ehab talked about us becoming attractive to large international corporations. Haha, why would I be happy about that? Our football club can be used to plaster their corporations logo over - in order to make millionaires richer? Seriously - why is that good?!?! How can a club, of several thousands of 'fans' - who believe in the club due to some sort of personal affinity - be owned by one guy? The fans are people personally involved in the club, they aren't just consumers who can pick between clubs, it means more to us than that. So, why can we just have everything decided for us by somebody who has the necessary obscene wealth? I just don't get how that is remotely desirable. Hey - I admit that I am in the minority (I think) - probably an extreme minority. I should probably just go and support some tiny team about 30 divisions down. But, I for some weird reason really like Hull City. This whole saga feels like an opportunity - though unfortunately I don't think the outcome will be how I would want it to be.
Why should you combine a decision about buying a pass with a decision about a name change? It would make more sense for people to make one decision to buy a pass or not and have another decision to decide whether they think changing the name is a good idea. It's a bit like the scotland independence vote. You have a vote about independence and you decide whether to buy a loaf of bread. You don't say: "if you buy a loaf of bread it means you want scotland to be independent".
Well if the name change goes through they have an awful lot of hype to live up to. Who will they blame then when the riches do not materialise. Oh wait a minute, Ehab said we are financially stable and will be in profit next year. Night before a big game, they are certainly consistent.
I was attending BP before AA rocked up to UK Immigration Control in 1970. I will be attending the KC after he leaves the building. With me it's personal, not just an ego booster or a nice pension nest egg. Principle over financial expediency very time. You cannot buy heritage.
I prefer to vote with my brain. I don't see a good reason for a name change so I will vote against it if I am given a chance. Why should a decision whether to buy a pass to watch football be made out to be a decision on a name change? Is buying a pass for or against a name change? Is buying a loaf of bread for or against scottish independence? It seems a stupid concept to me. Just have a bloody vote on whether you approve of the name change. It's not difficult to understand.
What do the FA have to take into consideration exactly when deciding? What is the criteria for allowing/dissallowing it?
Well there's many more people in Hull who don't buy a season pass than who do buy one. Does that mean the vote is against the name change or for the name change?

Assem and Ehab Allam admitted they couldn't attract finance into our football club whilst its in the Premier League and an FA Cup semi-final. Ehab gives the impression we sing Tiger songs because of the name change application rather than because we've been called Tigers from 1905. I don't remember singing mauled by the tigers against Brighton and Hove Albion though. Less than a month to the decision, hopefully.
They have absolute discretion in making the decision. As long as the decision is rational based on the evidence then I think it is legally water tight.
When you see Ehab's mud-coloured whistle and his shirt of indeterminate hue, you know this man has no taste or judgement.
Does he mean that we now have a name of "Hull City" and a nickname of "Tigers" and he wants to change the name to "Hull Tigers" with a nickname of ... "Tigers"? ... "City"? ... something else? It seems as if we are limiting our options.
Odd that he calls his father 'Assem'. Perhaps it's to appear more manly and assertive, as 'Dad' sounds subordinate and small time. I've noticed too that Professor Allam also wears some 'designed by David Blunkett' shirts; sort of taupe or mustard -coloured. Have a word.
