Well Cheltenham hs now passed, what a great 4 days racing or should I say 3 days with a not so last day but onwards and upwards to the great race that is the Midlands grand National 15.50 Uttoxeter- Goulanes - 7/1 First time in the tongue tie tomorrow and with Richard Johnson on board it's better than his normal jockey lol. Trainer has won the last3 renewals of this race and Goulanes looks good to add to it. Based on his novice form he looks very well treated by the handicapper, has won a grade 2 last February and has good record of going fresh
16.05 Kempton- Oscar Hoof 3/1 First of all can't be having First Mohican over hurdles or not this season anyway. Been waiting for him to reappear my choice. He came second in a good listed company race and then won at Doncaster lot running on very well, will like the ground and there is a lot more to come from this fella and like him to go and win
Cheers Boris, not massively in to Laying but may have to tomorrow only thing King stable is running pretty well
I like this one a lot. Have had a speculative few quid. Was on NRFB for the Martin Pipe at 33/1 - I think she's very well handicapped. That said, after my Cheltenham it's probably best left alone.
15.30 Kempton- Romford Pele- 10/3 Surely has been laid out for this race missing Cheltenham, trainer is in form and would have a had a good chance in one of the novice races so am pretty confident on a big run
That reminds me. There was an interview in the jockeys' room and I noticed 2 things unusual: 1. There was a female in there 2. One of the jockeys was downing a pint
Hello lads..just back from the boozer...what a session....anyhoooo...does anyone think that if Ruby was riding the three Mullins horses he would have prevailed? I know he would have and I didn't back one of them. Would he have tracked the rags who fought out the finish in the Gold Cup instead of Bobs Worth on the inside?..He already alluded to his MO yesterday re Annie Power that he tracked his biggest threat. Would he have hit that hurdle at the exact spot BH did when he fell?..no...lottery type outcome (no blame attached to DC here but purely a contention) Would RW be 1/2 length better than Casey in the County?..of course he would. Just a few thoughts.
Times like this I want a 5 day Festival...e3ven though I'm a advocate of the return to the 3 dayer. Watching highlights now...a lot can get lost in the pub.
Lord W was 6l detached after 5 fences.....not sure that by design but it worked..even off a modest pace..didn't notice that through the old beer goggles..
Last Instalment retired..sad not to see him realise his potential. Bobs Worth 180?....awarding Master Minded 186 was a complete joke...but hey..PS is the man.. Well done Bob btw..you stuck your neck on the line re the Pipe plodder...no one rides fractions on the Cheltenham hurdle track like Tom Scu.
Harry Topper's keeping half the field out of the handicap in the Midlands National, but West End Rocker gets to run off a mark of 135 with only 10 stone on his back. Once conseidered a live contender for the GN at Aintree, a year off the track may temper enthusiasm a little, but this is a marked step down from the sort of races he's contested in the past. He may be getting on a bit, but this isn't much of a race, quality wise, and won't take a lot of winning..
good spot archer me and the don know the kid who breed the rocker and he echos your thoughts, how ever hughesy very postive about Sun Cloud and jeffersons are doing ok
