    Ladies & Gentlemen,

I'm a little concerned with all this excitable "Playing Arsenal in the Final", "Qualifying for Europe" talk. Some posters seem to be over-confident that we'll beat the Blades and this seems to be reflected in a complete ignoration of their team and indeed superb form.

So I thought we should give them some deserved analysis:

    Key Facts:

They've won the FA Cup 4 times. We haven't.

    Head to head record:

Hull City 14-25 Sheffield Utd (with 18 draws)

This will be the first match on neutral ground however so home & away stats are less important.

FA Cup head to head: One win each. (Peter Halmosi anyone?)

    http://www.statto.com/football/teams/head-to-head

    Form:

Sheffield United: 7 match winning streak

again this is in L1 but winning breeds confidence and in the cup they've beaten teams from higher divisions

    http://www.footballformguide.net/form/sky-bet-league-1

    Key Players:

Jose Baxter: Quality 22 year old ex-Everton academy midfielder.

John Brayford: Nigel Clough's favourite, signs him every time and trusts him.

Chris Porter: 6 ft 1 in form striker

    Manager:

Nigel Clough: Did a great job at the Rams and proving his worth once more.

    Conclusion:

Not household names but confident, well-managed and a club on the up. This is not a "turn up and we'll win" game. It's one of the biggest games in our history; as it is for them.

    My prediction:

Steve Bruce will set us up to accommodate our passing game which over the big Wembley pitch should be to our advantage. Key for us will be Davies, Huddlestone and Meyler. This could be the occasion to see Aluko shine.

    2-0 City

Pointless. What happened in the past is irrelevant. Wanderers won it 4 times. Old Etonians beat Blackburn Rovers in a final. Blackburn Rovers won it 4 years in a row. Bury beat Southampton in a final. What relevance would those have to teams meeting now?
The home and away with the Blades is pointless. Apart from the fact they were different sides most of our wins were at a different ground.

What the **** does that matter?

And weren't all of them before the Second World War?

    Yes it does matter.

Not perhaps to this particular game but in the historical sense.

You have no right to be angry with Assam Allam's comments about history if you don't accept Sheffield United's

    I have every right.

How does the previous honours which they won pre-WW2 affect the game? If you are going to talk about them, talk about things which are relevant to our match against them.

    Be careful with those words.

If you are insisting we take each and every match on its own merits then of course I agree because the variables change over time. The point of this article is an overall assessment and scene setting.

Surely the points you are trying to be make should be relevant to this particular game? Otherwise your post is rather pointless.

Nobody expects it to be a walkover. But you have to look at the facts, a premier league side are playing a league one side. We have to be confident.

It has no bearing on the game whatsoever, tomorrow neither will the fact that Man city have recently been in lower divisions. The only thing that matters is the team right now.

What happened in the past is irrelevant is maybe not correct regarding a number of things but it is for a game like football where the teams are comprised if different players over time. What Sheff Utd did in the Cup a century ago has no bearing on what goes on now.

Their previous honours don't affect this game in itself.

Are you suggesting that all sports articles should ignore past records? Don't be ridiculous.

Don't be silly. Accepting their history is not the same s thinking what they did a century ago would have any bearing on what goes on now.

Sorry, where did I say that?

Using previous honors is irrelevant for an upcoming game. Saying that a team won a cup over 80 years ago is a reason to take them more seriously is ****ing ridiculous.

I will give you some facts.
SU are in league 1 for one reason only. They are s***e.
4 cup wins are great, when was the last one?

We are a team on the up.
It is time to big Hull City up.

They will be s*****g themselves at the thought of playing against Hudd.

It is time to man up. We are going to the FA Cup final.
If you have any doubts give your ticket away.

    Hull City AFC 4.......SU 0

You said it doesn't matter that they've won the cup 4 times.

In addition, my article doesn't suggest that their pre-war pedigree should affect this game.

You shouldn't ignore recent form however.

When we get through I hope we play Woolwich Arsenal. Imagine them running around in their 3ft long shorts (Harry Enfield take off was brilliant). Oh no I just realised the Woolwich Arsenal team were better than the current Arsenal team. We are fu**ed.
newsflash coming through.....woolwich Arsenal players are all dead from the 30s.....yes we will win the FA Cup<party><party><party>

Sheff Utd's cup history hasn't got much sway on what this match.

They hardly go into the match with a psychological edge, because what their forefathers have done. And how ours did the exact opposite.

I don't agree with being cocky. There's nowt wrong with thinking we can win, but it'll be difficult & they'll give us a match- they've won 10 in a row & knocked out both Villa & Fulham away. That's the mind set we should be going with. I could be wrong, I haven't got a crystal ball.

    Sheffield United - ****e
    Villa - ****e
Fulham - steaming stinking sloppy ****e

    Wigan - ****e
    Arsenal - ****e

We've as good as won the cup. Turn up and it's ours, how could our players possibly lose to this ****e?
