If it was between Mackems I think you will find it would have been stepped on, the Mugs are fair game. Previously I have had a go at Mackems calling others on here for having a go because they have different views. Like I said then, everyone has the right to an opinion, abusing someone to back up your opinion does not make you right. As for the rest of your post that is your opinion, doesn't necessarily mean someone with an opposing view is wrong. Your holier than thou crack makes even less sense. As therefore only posters who agreed with you should be allowed to post.
I did'nt tell him what to do i advised him if he wanted a successfull club to follow he should support Barca. I am also entitled to my opinion of what i think of fans who quit as soon as they are not happy. I am also not happy at times but it will not stop me going And it also gives me the right to voice my ****ing opinion as you politely put it.
Bruceysbeak I havnt got Facebook mate, deleted it with girlfriend problems! Haha. Yeah sure. I don't always go up there, but for the big games I do, usually I'll just find a bar near me. But yeah for sure, get hold of me in the season and ill take you up there mate.
I for one though it was a brill article that's why I'm giving 5 stars and some rep, the assassination bureau is way out of order, if you don't agree say so and give the reason why. that's what we are hear for, but to make an article then have yourself slandered by a fellow makem, then I'm truly disheartened by it.
Why should he want to go and support Barca, he SUPPORTS Sunderland! For you to say he has to accept any old ****e like we have in the past is so wrong. Lets make this clear he isn't renewing his season ticket, he will still be going to SUPPORT SUNDERLAND!
Just because you accept poor standards dont share that failure with everyone else. If you are happy with the football from January onwards then fine. Not everyone is so easily satisfied and the poster was talking about his son not himself. I notice you didn't mention the 5-1 derby game amongst that scintillating first half of the season football? Quinny has been a god send for this club but he isn't infallible and everything he does is not perfect. If we are not allowed to convey those feeling through a Sunderland football forum then there is very little purpose of such a forum at all. Bruce HAS to do much, much better next season and that's a fact. The Bruce revolution is not completely broken but its damaged. How damaged we will see by August 21st.
Thanks mate but now my rep power is dropping like a bigg market slappers knickers for saying my piece.
I've just turned 26, been a season ticket since the Stadium opened so in my short time I've gone through the 19 and 15 point season relegation and personally know people who've never returned, they might come to see us play a couple of the big boys. People may not like this opinion but there are different level of "fan" everyone has fair weatger fans, some like me are unwavering and will support the lads through thick and thin and finances permitting will always renew my season ticket. For me I'm happy that we are establishing ouselves in the top flight and I want to see steady progress being made. I was very pro quinn when it came to pub watch, remember he wasn't attacking fns who simply couldn't afford it that's fair enough, he was talking about the people who go to the pubs who'll spend 40 quid getting pissed shouting at the screen slagging off players they've never bothered to come and support. I think there's a distinction between "fan" and "supporter" fans pay a passing interest and some done even know who we are playing at the weekend, "supporters pay there money come to the sol and support the team and the club.
I can't believe the way this thread has went...What ever the variation of our views and opinions, we are after all, Sunderland fans at the end of the day. I certainly disagree with some of the sentiments of the author of this thread, and for that reason I stated my alternative viewpoint. However, I really can't understand why gbsafc4eve felt the need to resort to petty insults: it just didn't serve any purpose other than to lower the level of this thread.
Well Commachio, it seems our not allowed to support your team unequivocally anymore - in years gone by your would be a loyal supporter now your treat with derision, called a "happy clapper" by the self appointed "intelligentsia" supporters who see it as "cool" or "sophisticated" as be able to support a club yet dismiss its progress on and off the pitch and continue to criticize the manager - whilst expecting you to just bow your head in deference to their superior views. My point, and i have made it before is this, if we were to sack Bruce as the "intelligentsia" desire can you imagine the headlines - we would be a laughing stock, as the footballing journalists and tv pundits seem to be able to grasp that the sale of £ent and the injuries did contribute to our poor run - but the "intelligentsia" won't have that. I'm afraid I tend to respect the opinion of these professional journalists and tv pundits rather than 17 year olds and supporters with an "alternative" agenda(bit like alternative comics, as Bob Monkhouse once quipped, its called alternative comedy because its not funny - apply that logic to supporters), they concentrate on the bad results, on the bad games and the changes that did not come off. I just wonder what calibre of manager(one in the right mind) would take on this job in the knowledge that they would be sacked if they did not better 10th position regardless of injuries & player sales. "Opinions are like assholes. Everybody's got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks."
Nice response, and I agree with most of it. I have a mate same age as me, always buys the latest shirt and screams at the TV in pubs. He went to a couple of games in the 80s and never returned. He is still passionate about Sunderland but not a supporter. He is also a very wealthy guy so money was never the issue. I paid for my sons season ticket until recently, so it is his choice to renew or not. But he will still be going to support the lads and voice his displeasure when he feels it warranted.
Thanks for bringing me into it when i'm trying to be unbiased...Not quite sure what you are trying to tell me? All i know is im a Bruce supporter, but not saying owt else.
Yeah and thats going to do us the world of good empty stadium no money therefore can't afford players club gets relegated less crowds club goes into liquidation. Yeah good quote that watch it in a bar well done mate
Personally a COMFORTABLE top half finish last season would have been about right. And I said so from the outset of the season. No matter what, I want SAFC to keep improving and growing, to get seats on bums that has to start on the pitch.
