I know, I know. There is a movie forum for this ****e.

I watched the movie Filth last night (I've put this on the movie forum) and enjoyed it well enough, but sometimes I don't understand why films can't just follow the book exactly.

I know factors such as plot not being suitable for movie entertainment, movie time, budget etc can have a say in these things but sometimes directors seem to make changes just for the hell of it when there's really no need.

It got me thinking, I don't think I've ever seen a movie adaptation of a book that's followed it exactly to the letter. Have you?

    List 'em here folks.

    The Silence of the Lambs?

Can't think of many major differences between the book and the film.

Never read the book but the film was utter horse manure.

I liked it when I first saw it. Has dated terribly though, like a lot of films from that era.

None of the Harry Potters even came close.

Well they came close sometimes but never quite perfect.

The worst thing about Silence of the Lambs is that the gays moaned about the fact that Buffalo Bill was a tranny and as a result the director Jonathan Demme made Philadelphia as his next film.

So we had to suffer through that sentimental AIDS mince.

Manhunter was an adaptation of Red Dragon and aye it's better than the one with Ed Norton and Hopkins.

It has dated even worse though, possibly the most 80's movie I've seen.
