OK so as I dont have season ticket and never have I guess that makes me a plastic...saying that i've been to more lootball league matches than Premier League matches....actually i've never been to a premier league match. I love Hull City and the reason i've never had a season ticket is 2 reasons, 1 I cant afford it and 2, if I could, time restrainst would be impossible becuase i'm a full time carer for my mum who has cerebral palsy

Spot on. People who only go in the good times or to watch when we play the good teams are people who are not as dedicated as fans (which is short for fanatics). You could call the gloryhunters but they aren't plastics. Your definition sums them up.

Does that support consist of continuous support, there through the Smith and Dolan years, the lockouts etc...
Or you went to a game when Carter was here, disappeared when times were bad, came back in the 1960s for the Wqggy & Chillo years then disappeared again until the arrival of Adam Pearson? I think that is the case with a lot as going by the number who ring up RH saying they don't mind a name change and have been going for 50,60 years and more are either fibbing or the crowds weren't counted properly s there would have been more there than the 3-4,000 crowds we were getting.

Indeed it does, I also used also to go to City Boys games, when I was a school kid, these were played at the old Anlaby Road ground.
May I add that the attitude of some on here towards fellow genuine supporters who happen to have differing views to their own is really quite disapointing.

One thing that annoyed me was seeing the likes of Twitter full of people saying things like 'it's time to dust off the old Hull City scarf - I'm off to Wembley!' etc... the types that have no interest in football, but socially they have fingers in every pie going, so will definitely be able to get a ticket.

Life's equivalent of photo-bombing, or John Terry putting on his kit for cup-final's despite not playing.

I don't mind extra fans, but you should be going for the team, not for a stamp on your social passport.

That's how it works though, like you said, 8000 in the bottom division - 25000 in the top. Success breeds popularity.

Good on you. Wasn't a dig at you, just an enquiry. Some people say they have been a City supporter for decades. What they mean is they went when they did well and ropped them when they didn't. Which is not being a supporter or being a fan. Tht of course, is their choice. Everyone is different. The only thing which is galling is if any of those get a ticket if we got to the final whilst other, more deserving, people, miss out.
It happens all the time of course. I know Chelsea fan, who to be fair, was lways there when they were in div 2 and doing badly, who couldn't go every to home games every week when they started doing well so didn't have a season pass. Couldn't get an away ticket either after, as he said, they almost asked you to attend in the bad ol days but suddenly thousands were applying. Anyway he had jpined some members scheme so when they got to the FACup
final and one their first trophy for decades he got 2 tickets. Meanwhile thousands of fans who had been to every game didn't get one. Fans always end up losing out for big games.

What would a fan who only attends when we lose a lot of matches?

I think a 'plastic' is just anybody who you perceive to be less of a fan than yourself , so it's all relative
