Strange feeling today, not the usual pre-match anticipation, hopefully if we do go down, our performance levels leading up the end don't plummet. Could go either way tomorrow, either Magath's changes will come into effect and we will leave with renewed optimism, or, as I expect, we'll watch a terrible performance (from both sides) with the Geordies nicking it in the last 10 mins (which would be consistent with a lot of games this season). In terms of team, I don't really care anymore so long as Holtby and Mitro play and we show some willingness to attack and be creative. Will Woodrow get the nod again? It's all up in the air. Chances are it will be a starting 11 we've not seen before. Atleast the sun should be out and the day around the match will be fun!
I was wondering if someone was going to post a thread and suggest a line-up. Likewise, I don't care of the starting eleven. Will make no difference what so ever! 6-7 of the starting do not care or don't want to be there!! If asked, I would like to have Mitroglou, Hotlby, Sidwell and Kvist starting. Scoring a goal to cheer will help... Not asking a lot, am I?
So much so that there's no sign of Felix for the usual 1pm press conference. Personally not a clue what he'll do. The only inkling I've picked up so far is "if you don't train, you don't play". In the training clips earlier there was no sign of Scotty Parker or Ashkhan Dejagah so probably they are out. Agree with you Silky, that Holtby and Mitro should play. But please not Holtby in a deep centre midfield role - put Kvist as holding midfield with Kara and Sidwell in front of him and Holtby up with Mitro. However as you also say, it's all up in the air!
I'm going tomorrow for what will in all likelyhood be my last visit to Fulham as a Premiership team, possibly for a little while, so I will feel a tinge of sadness at knowing we won't be featured last on Match of The Day anymore, there will also be a shoot of optimism which says we will be first on the football league show quite a bit - which means I'll have to stay up about 10 minutes later on a saturday than I normally do. I will be a bit sad, but if we win (ha!) it will give me just a little hope - and, as we know, it's the hope that kills you.
Should be a cracking atmosphere, the toon always bring a lot of fans. Hopefully the mojo flag will be out! I am going with, not in any order: Stek Reither - Hangeland - heitinga - Riise Sidwell - Kvist - Karagounis - Richardson Holtby - Bent (going by Madness' news above) 2-0 to Fulham. A fighting, harrying and tenacious victory, giving everyone a soupcon of hope!
Certainly doubtful as is Dejagah who will have a late fitness test. However Parker and Karagounis are definitely out.
Who knows but it looks like Darren Bent will not - "Felix Magath has hinted that Darren Bent may have blown his chances to become his go-to man in the relegation fight. Bent was not untrusted with a starting place in the side for last week's crucial game at Cardiff City, with youngster Cauley Woodrow surprisingly preferred. And the Fulham boss admits former England striker Bent may not feature in the final weeks of the season. "I'm manager for all the players here and I have to give everybody a chance,” said the German, who gave Bent 90 minutes in the home defeat to Chelsea. “Darren Bent had his chances as well as the other strikers. Why should I not give Cauley Woodrow a chance?" And we can continue to expect him to ring out the changes - "In the next games, if we do not so well, I will give other players a chance to show how good they are.” Source: http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/spor...utm_source=Get West London&utm_medium=twitter
And here's the man himself in this week's internal video. A rallying call for the fans although he sounds as though he's lost the rag a bit with (some) players. As to team selection, it's even more up in the air than ever.
From what he's said there I think we might see Chris David or Pat Roberts make an appearance tomorrow.
It's the return of 'Howard's Way' tomorrow. please log in to view this image Yup, Mr Webb is in charge!!
I basically agree with the line up as described above. I still maintain some hope. They could respond to Felix and run off a string of wins ... the talent is there. The boys just need a little confidence and direction, if you ask me. I don't care for Bent. Never did. I like Richardson on the left in front of Riise. I think Richardson's quietly been one of our best the last few months.
"To win a game, that will give them that confidence they lose 'til now and that, I think, will turn everything" - Says it all really. Hope the fans all support the team. One swallow doesn't make a summer, nor improve on forlorn hope (excluding the ridiculous possibility of points at Cittee), but a win would just be so nice.... C O Y W
Agree with DR or Richardson -never would have guessed that he - along with Sidders - would be a top performer
What a selection... Riether dropped for Heitinga moving to his place. Amorebieta alongside Hangeland... At last Kvist is on and Holtby to his natural position. Woodrow starting again! Bent and Hugo must be absolutely dreadful not be picked!
