All about the Conti for me today! Can't get away from how badly Bob's Worth was left for dead by the speed horses at Haydock. That is the best 3m race we have seen all season and Conti will back that up tomorrow. Nap of the week for me

Horrendous luck first two days, hampered, fallers, lame, much more like it yesterday, backed them all bar More Of That and Ballynagour who id backed on its last two no shows when fancied. One of my big antepost bets on Taquin at 9s covered my meeting and then some. Waiting on Briar Hill for a few quid with the Faugheen dbl, 12s and 10s but id be wary backing him at the price now if I wasnt already on, saver on Kings Palace. Backing Bobs Worth obviously but hes hardly worth tipping at the price. Couple I think are worth a bet at the prices today.

    1.30 Pearl Castle 12/1

    4.40 Full Shift 7/1

Full Shift is a lovely horse, he looks a chaser in the making and he jumps so slick for one so inexperienced, ive absolutely no doubt he is better than 135 and he is my bet of the day.

Whats a horse got to do to get a bit a credit around here.
ignore Haydock as it was just a warm up
    oppose him at your peril

Another fine day at Cheltenham yesterday. Took Oddy's advice and went Tatts with Guinness grandstand seat and definitely better value than Club with much better view of the racing (thanks Oddy). Onto the action today I've actually got an antepost voucher where I'll get a run. The downside is that it's Lyreen Legend ew at 50s in the gold cup! As 50s is still widely available it was hardly a shrewd investment <laugh>. Still I suspect he'll jump and travel well for a long way before finding very little as he has in his 2 races so far this season.
The other horse I really like is Deputy Dan @ 14s in the Albert Bartlett. The concern would be the firmer surface with all his wins being on soft/heavy.
Small stakes all ew and combi on Rutheglen in the Triumph, Deep Trouble in the County, Thomas Crapper in the Conditionals and Eastlake in the lucky last! Good luck all.

Morning all, hope we are all fit and well for what is the last day of four fantastic days racing this week... I do think that it has been one of the better festivals for a while, and im not just speaking from my pocket as I am up for the week, but I think we have had some great races and some great talking points...

Anyway it's another day stood at the oche with darts in hand as I think this is the hardest day of the 4 to predict the winners... So...

    1.30 - Royal Irish Hussar, 15/2 + Abbyssial, 14/1...
    2.05 - Arctic Fire, 6/1 + Master Of The Game, 25/1...
    2.40 - Champagne West, 16/1 + Urban Hymn, 20/1...
    3.20 - Bobs Worth, 15/8...
    4.00 - Pearlygates, 12/1 + Divine Intavention, 16/1
    4.40 - Vieux Lion Rouge, 15/2 + Skyfarmer, 16/1
    5.15 - Next Sensation, 7/1 + Astracad, 22/1

No bets placed yet as ive got some tickets running into today in doubles and trebles, but I will say that if Bobs Worth wins today then it will be the best Festival ive had, ever...!!!

Good luck to all who are playing today...<ok>

And as they said in the movies once, "It's been emotional..." <cheers>

Going for an outsider in the big race with On His Own, with Ruby onboard currently 16's with Hills.

Philip Fenton has declared Last Instalment after being satisfied that the ground is safe having walked the track this morning.

First Lieutenant is a non-runner as he has not eaten up this morning.

its been a great week at Cheltenham and I am really looking forward to this final day

1.30 the Triumph is always competitive but both CALIPTO and ROYAL IRISH HUSSAR will love the ground and it will take a good horse to beat either of them.

2.05 CHELTENIAN appears to be very popular and looks to have a good chance. I also like the look of ANAY TURGE and LYVIUS e/w ridden by the best 2 jockeys this week.

2.40 I don't understand the hype about Briar Hill and wouldn't back him at 5/1 let alone 5/4! The Pipe team has been in superb form all week and I think KINGS PALACE is the pick of the lot.

3.20 I had my biggest ever win on BOB'S WORTH when we won the Novice Hurdle 2 years ago and have stuck with him ever since - I won't be deserting him today.

4.00 Heart ruling the head here - I would love to see OSCAR DELTA make amends for last year.

4.40 THE SKYFARMER is a cracking each way bet.

5.15 it probably won't win but I always bet on TANKS FOR THAT in the last and so will be doing the same today!
I think that one that could run into a place is HIS EXCELLENCY.

Yes, Dexter, but he could only beat what he had to beat in the GC, and he did this well, three times. Best Mate never in his life let anyone down. A real favourite of mine (along with Monksfield and the one and only One Man); I just loved old Best Mate and was quite distressed when he died, as I was when One Man died at Aintree (why on earth did they have to run him so soon after winning the QM Champion Chase? I could never understand that, after all, hadn't he done enough for the season?).

Totally Swanny..he saw off all comers three times.

One Man also a big fav of mine...as was Monkey.I was about 10 when he was beaten by the great Sea Pigeon.I remember that was the first year the CH was run over 2m and not 2m 200yds...various people opined that suited SP and didn't allow Monksfield time and turf to battle back.

The end of the golden age of hurdling.

Stick you must be licking your lips now at your Royal Irish ticket. Absolutely battered in the market will probably be near favourite at this rate!

In the preview nights Sean Quinn mentioned that Pearl Castle was the much faster horse over Rutherglen but said his stamina and battling abilities would stead him well here. Maybe stick on a R/FC for some pennies

<laugh>..I don't think Bob see's it that way!

I'm 5/5 on my Bismarck's this week Irving,ROR,HF,RS and BB all unplaced and was considering trying to sink KP but I think he has a decent shout.

Favourite too short for me and I'll probably pick an e/w rag for an interest in that.

Claret Cloak 5.15 e/w @ 9/1 already marked by me for the getting out stakes if things don't go to plan.

Anyhoooo, off to the boozer with some mates to get absolutely hammered...hopefully paid for by the layers cash.

    GL everyone.

Trainer John Quinn runs Pearl Castle and Rutherglen in the Triumph Hurdle, a tentative choice for the race is Rutherglen, unbeaten in three hurdle races for the stable and Noel Fehily rides (one of the best National Hunt jockeys in the UK IMO). His last run was actually on the flat but he won that race, a handicap on the all weather.

Another tentative selection is Cheltenian in the 2.05 at Cheltenham. Lightly raced and plagued by injury problems, he ran a fine race when 4th in the Betfair Hurdle. Winner of the Festival Bumper in 2011. Flaxen Flare was impressive when winning last year's Fred Winter and has to be considered.

Briars Hill and Bob's Worth have outstanding chances of winning the Albert Bartlett and Gold Cup respectively (Bob's Worth is unbeaten over fences at Cheltenham). In terms of each way value in the Gold Cup (even though he's very unlikely to win), The Giant Bolster was revitalised by headgear when winning at Cheltenham on his final start.

As for the Foxhunters, Oscar Delta looked set to win when unseating his rider up the run in at last year's Festival, should run another big race. Bertie's Dream lacks experience over these fences but won the 2010 Albert Bartlett.
