Just seen that Pratley has been released by Swansea. This is one thing I don't understand, as wasn't he wanted by most teams in the championship last season?

Tbh I always thought he was pretty good and I don't understand why he's. Been released

He's run down his contract and in his own words he 'needs new challenges'.
Bolton favourites to sign him, they've been on the radar all season.

surely the club would have offered him a new contract with more than a year to go, if he refused, sell him

well we had an option on 6 months to go for a million apparently, and it was turned down because the club considered him to valuable on the promotion push than the money, its worked out imo

No news of DP signing anywhere yet .... I would have thought it would be just a formality to sign with his next team. I mean who would walk away from a Prem contract unless you already knew you had one to walk into.

I guess playing for nobody represents a real challenge ... After all you have to provide your own kit, pitch, lights, match officials, the other members of your team, the other team, paying spectators, wages .......

I stated in a post back on 606 that DP wouldn't be playing Prem football next season if he wasn't for us .... blah, blah, blah. Took some well meaning stick for that I did cause everybody thought DP was all that and then some. But i pointed out that he couldnt command a place in our team, and nobody was making serious offers to sign him. Well right now he's not playing for anybody ... Let's see how all this works out.

    Do footballers get dole?

His contract runs out on June 30th, and the transfer window opens on July 1st - expect news in that first week imo.

this is our loss and someones gain....the club should have extended his contract when he asked for it...this was a bad bit of business at that time and i hope lessons have been learned....good luck pratters you were a huge part in getting us to where we are today....

I wouldn't be surprised if he is laying on a beach somewhere chilling with a cocktail knowing the he has a gentleman's agreement with Owen Coyle to sign a contract in July!!

Anyway, as Yankee has mentioned. He couldn't get a start with us.

Great impact player, but with the Evil Genius due back and Agustien/Allen/Leon/Gower and possibly Senna to contend with, games could be hard to come by for him and he would get a signing on fee from another club!!

couldn't get a start for us......he was one of our star players that we have let slip through our fingers, most players gets a turn on the bench for one reason or another, he was always in the team when fit and left out when he is not 100%. prats would have made a great impact for us in the premiership and now he will do that for someone else.....shocking!!!!!

Agree with you Super on some of what you saying but we don't know all the facts and what I do know is that with BR at the helm we will only be moving forward.

We can't keep looking back and thinking what if.
