Its the first thing ive managed to get right all week so i need to at least gloat a little bit She ran a very good race and it was a strong renewal im not saying it wasnt she just wasnt the banker most people thought she was. The shrewdies got on a while ago (not me) when she was a backable price, everyone that just followed the hype when she was a completely ludicrous 6/4 have had their fingers burned
People relishing a failure for the punters and success for the bookies Did I gloat when I said BB was the lay of the year, have some respect Brough T.
If you have seen my posts all week you will see that i firmly supported Faugheen and then Vautour was hardly a hype horse. Ive actually only had one bet all week and that is a Quevega, Bobs Worth double.
I was all Annie in whichever race she ran but when the price tumbled I backed off as it was a ridiculous price and I was afraid of More of That. Even then I didn't go ew on the latter because I thought 10/1 for a second was poor value. Exciting race though and no disgrace to be beaten by such a smart horse.
Nah you've taken Annie's defeat (an exceptionally gallant one) straight on the chin which is appalling cowardice on your part as I think we were ready to absolutely slaughter you
I know what Brough means- the bandwagon punters getting stuffed is always good because it's all hype. Also, when you have it rammed down your throat how good something is without really hearing much consideration for the opposition, its nice to quieten down the complete overconfidence. It's part of the sporting theatre! One thing I will never accept though is willing horses to fall for the sake of your own. No one wants that. Or hating an animal for winnign or losing- it isn't the animals fault!
Big Bucks at 4/1 was a frankly ridiculous bet too though! Even as the 'each-way bet to nothing' it returned the same as the win bet on Annie Power I blame AP, if he's not have jumped ship we'd all be laughing now! Instead the AP and BB punters are ALL hammered!!!
The two 3 mile hurdle races today were almost identical times and both were hard fought wins. Not sure what to read into that but interesting.
Exactly this I think there's also certain connections people like to see getting egg on their faces - let's be fair Godolphin, Coolmoore and even the Queen split opinions on here as owners and it's probably best not to even start on trainers and jockeys. For me that's fair game but, as you rightly say, leave the horses out of it and only discuss them on their merits on the track. Of course if it ever transpires that Annie power has ben walking round Cheltenham telling everyone Big buck's is a donkey and she was going to sluice up today then we can change our views.
I also think instead of knocking the losing horses maybe we should give the winner a wee bit MORE OF THAT credit!
Hopefully those who are going tomorrow and have paid for the privilege will get their bobsworth... Actually this has got to stop
Ruby Walsh is to blame NASS. Had he said I want to ride the mare in the Champion Hurdle we wouldn't be discussing it. Makes me laugh a little reading people on here deriding jockeys for being on the wrong horse. Most of these Championship races are so close its ridiculous. Look at the difference between Jezki and MTOY. A lot of their decisions are borne out of loyalty!
Just out of interest does anyone else have mates who tel you about all their winners after the race but never about the losers? This week my mate has had 10 winners apparently. It does get a tad anoying when you tell them yours before and also that if they are such experts they don't let you in on it so you too can share the joy of apparently never losing
Why is Ruby to blame for not wanting to get off the defending Champion hurdler? Or have I missed your point?
