Relegation battle, what clubs will consider winnable games in the tight bottom half of the table.

    (w) = targeted as a winnable game, not predicting an actual win. So the final points are the maximum points that teams can realistically expect to finish on.

I'll take that, though you seem a tad more optimistic than I would be...

Those were the 3 I predicted to go down as well.

I really think you are over-estimating a lot of the teams.....

I also just realized that you've given some wins to both teams <laugh>
West Brom will beat Cardiff, but on the other hand, Cardiff will beat West Brom.

This might be a game changer!

    Edit: Might have misunderstood it!

    Am I reading it wrong?

    How can both teams win?

Aston Villa will see Man Utd as winnable?

Sorry if I'm being thick. I've not had time to look closely.

I find this confusing too, although I just assumed some games, both teams will fancy their chances in, i.e. we'll expect to beat West Ham, but they'll expect to beat us?

he's saying that if a team CAN win they get 3 points even though everybody knows BOTH teams can't get 3 points.

Sorry it wasn't clear enough (w) = winnable realistically not win. obviously there will be shock results and draws just trying to assess the task ahead of each team. Sorry it wasn't clear enough.

I think villa v Man U was a typo, I reckon he meant to put stoke above it.

    Haha that's a classic.
It was nice of you to work out all the results for us.
Personally, I think predicting the results is a complete waste of time. ie Wigan beating ManC twice.
If you could manage to predict the results you wouldn't be wasting your time on here. You would be sat on a hot beach somewhere with a nice cold beer and a hot woman by your side.
I actually think the 3 sides to go down (whoever they may be) will be lucky to reach 35 points.

The point of this thread is trying to assess the task ahead of each team and open discussion about remaining fixtures. E.g. WBA have more games against teams in the lower half than say Cardiff therefore have a greater chance of accumulating more points. Not saying that no one will get a draw or a shock result, just trying to start a debate.

Personally I think it will be decided on each teams results vs the top half teams.

I think you maybe right, a win against a top half team could galvanize a run of form. But I think in the relegation battle taking points against teams around you are more important and more likely to happen.

Interesting, not sure why so many couldn't grasp what you are showing, wba and Norwich stand out, both need some wins in the next few weeks or they look doomed.

For those who miss the old BBC predictor you might prefer to try this modern version - http://www.the-mustard.com/predictor_traditional.html

I can't remember the detail but last time I worked through all of the fixtures I ended up with City in 14th place - can't remember the bottom three that I got - Cardiff, Fulham and Sunderland rings a bell but my gut feeling is that Sunderland might finish above West Brom.

Thanks I was beginning to think I was having a right brain ****!

I think you've done extremely well this season and judging by your remaining fixtures you look pretty safe ATM.

I think Cardiff, Fulham, Norwich and Sunderland looking the more likely to go (Fulham being a dead cert) with Palace, WBA and us (Swansea) needing to pull their socks up!

Although I do put our position down to the demands of the Europa league, which are now out of the way.

Was the Europa league fun? Would you do it again? Or over rated pile of crap?

    Your table doesn't make sense.

You gave their final position based on "winnable games" acculumating x amount of total points. In some cases, you've put both sides in a fixture to win in their respective fixture list meaning giving out 6 points for a 3 point game? So those teams can't ALL accumulate that many points and therefore finish where you have suggested.

Sorry to point this out, it's probably just a hiccup.

It's not too difficult it's just a list of each teams winnable games, he's not saying they are going to win, you're reading too much into it.

    Any game is winnable.

    Ask Wigan.
