Two promising players in two days for the toon and they didnt cost a penny in transfer fees. Big question marks over the condition and long term fitness of both of these players but i think these guys could have a massive impact on the Premiership if they have game time. I can't help feeling that, on the back of good performances, they will be sold for profit within 18 months. As Newcastle fans theres always the doubt that Ashley is going to s*** on us following a bit of good news. Anyone else concerned that we arent linked with any defenders atm? Feel we need a LB or two, a CB and a decent RB. We are also short on the right side of midfield

We're defiantly showing other clubs how signing players is done atm. We're also showing how flaud Liverpool and Man City' transfer policy is, I mean Liverpool spent £55 Million on Henderson and Carroll alone. We've signed players who are potentially better than the both of them for a price of what..£3.5 Million? Not even that with Nolans transfer. Can't wait for the rest!!! <cheers>

I don't think Ashley will intentionally want us to flop, no!

If he sells them for profit, as you said it'll be because of good performances in a Toon shirt, this SHOULD mean we've finished reasonably high in the table or done well in a cup, resulting in an increased income and possibly European football, in which case, we'd be again looking at a new level/caliber of players.

A bargain for us is a free player, a bargain for a European team could be 7m (Van Der Vaart!)

Ashley will make far more money with us playing European football than us in midtable, so I believe he does want us to succeed and to be fair to the bloke, he has improved!

Carroll didn't cost anything to them because they got that money back from a Torres signing

    nice

also i forgot about the torres fiasco, what a waste of money 50 million is, even if he gets 20 goals next season its such a waste, they take an underperforming player and give a rival 50 mil to have fun with, fortunately the bin dippers wasted 20 mil on henderson, carrol is not worth 35 but we all know hes going to be awesome one day, i dont think henderson will ever be that great, morons. We signed the superior caybe for less than 5 mil, satisfying as hell.

Yeah but if the man who owned the fosters was reluctant to sell that Fosters and really wanted to keep it, but there was a certain price that he would be willing to let it go for, and you had that money, you might do it. If it was a rare can of fosters...

    haha, i dunno.

Chelski's fault anyway. Liverpool waited until Chelsea had coughed up silly money for Torres first too.

It's still money that could've been spent elsewhere! Overpaying is overpaying regardless of where the money came from!
