I agree. More Of That is unbeaten in 5 races and would outstay Annie Power again over 3 miles. Annie Power stays 3 miles but would be better over 2m4f IMO.

Absolutely delighted with the performance of Tatenen who ran a blinder in 3rd. Couldn't have asked for more and nice little drift to 33/1 too.

I'm sort of on your side and wonder if others more took offence at the tone rather than anything else. The owner of Champion Court said he went for the handicap rather than the Ryan Air as he wanted to take the easy option so I did have a little chuckle when his plans were scuppered - well that and the ridiculous jacket.... I think it's easy to interpret any satisfaction at the owners losing as gloating at the horse itself. I don't think most people ever mean that though.

Yep, OFAH, you're right. No one word for it in English, so we have to use that German word Schadenfreude. Was a bad post, really.

(P.S. No I ain't showing off, my German is lousy and often hilarious....<doh>).

    (P.P.S. Tom Scu's some 'crap' jockey...<laugh>).

And with a massive POP the bubble is burst for Annie Power. Yet another Irish hype horse gets put in her place

He's a her and she was hardly put in her place Brough. 2nd in the best World Hurdle for 5 years beaten by a really good horse. Beating the Champion, the Albert Bartlett winner and a credible champion hurdler in Big Bucks, At a Fishers Cross and Zarkandar. Not to mention the rest of the field who spotted with grade one horses .

Brough, I dunno. I agree with a previous poster who reckoned she does stay but got beaten by an improving horse who stayed-on even better than she. Annie still ran a damn good race IMHO).

Well.... I definitely got one right and one wrong didn't I. And in nice foot in mouth fashion :)

Annie Power was NOT the Festival banker afterall!
Big Bucks WAS the Festival lay!

It seems the mistake I made with hindsight, which is a great thing to have on your side, is I really focussed on the match up as it were without giving due consideration to another inexposed unbeaten animal More of That! I did like his form (his trouncing of Glen's Melody got a great boost on Tuesday which I was fully aware of) but the fact AP deserted him and having showed such gears before I overlooked him unduly.

Annie Power ran a great race though, but no excuses, beaten fair and square. Ruby's a hard bugger on himself isn't he?? She's got a big future ahead of her possibly over shorter and over fences. She WILL be back don't worry :)

The legend Big Bucks, who I'd never opposed before in my life, ran a great race and it's brilliant he's retired safe and sound and out at the top. Lovely.

Probably the best lesson to learn from today is give a lot of consideration to whatever AP passes over to ride...!

So in summary YES I may be away somewhat 'tail between legs' but I'm amazed it's taken till Thursday before this inevitable occurrence happened <laugh>

You've been waiting to say that since Tuesday's first race, so I'm glad you've finally got the chance to say it if that pleases you!
