This is true. Tories brought in similar powers in the 90s.

The original version of the CJA was very much a "police state" type of legislation - banning gathering of 20 or more people but I think it was amended in 2003 to remove a lot of the draconian "laws"?

I'm sure you're right. A mate of mine got done under in in about 95/96 for disrupting a fox hunt. It was basically his word against one of the huntsman. Guess who the judge believed? He got bound over for a year.

    Seems a bit draconian.

Every Australian **** I've ever met has taken great pleasure in telling how wonderful life is down under. So this law should make no difference as it's so ****ing perfect down there they have no need to protest or strike.

Protesting is for hippies, students & hippy students.

Adults in the West should be mature enough to carry out reasoned debate.

If you're older than 21 and out in the street protesting in the U.K then you're a pitiless *****

What about if you just finished your paper round and walked home through an area where people were protesting?

That definately deserves a wacking by the coppers resulting in a fatal heart attack.

You're like a self-important student, getting all het-up over issues you can never control.
