I'm sure he meant nothing by it but the golden rule: Engage brain before opening mouth! I prefer to view it as clumsy as Eddie says, but the more critical would be less endearing towards him.......
Nothing when taken at face value. Its just the sort of thing thats easy for people interpret in whatever way they feel suits their agenda Fortunately that never happens, especially in the media
When you look at the WHOLE of the statement in context, he was clearly being reflective about the situation and showed he was fully supprotive to Michael and his family. Nothing to see hear.
I think anyone would be foolish to insinuate that he was inappropriate, but saying that things happen for a reason when someone is lying at deaths door is just naive to say the least. Any religious link is well..... I don't know......blind faith? Making him a stronger person?....... Again I'm not sure what he could of possibly meant by that? Anyway, I agree that the media as always will run with something for the sake of it and IMO it would have been more appropriate (if only for people close to Schuey) to have edited appropriately!
Look at somebody like Zanardi. He was incredibly lucky to survive. Although Zanardi would play down his achievements, he's come out stronger on the other side of his accident and has been an inspiration to many.
Out of context IMO, no different from people saying Lauda's incident was for a reason in that car safety was still **** and the FIA must learn from it. He believes in God in which I don't but I understand what he is trying to put across still and that he believes Michael will show why with his character and make a full recovery. Sadly this will be taken out of context like the time Seb said he should go see Senna's grave and ask what his Nephew was doing.
Hamilton overrated driver and plays the racise card when things get tough and so jealouse of vettel its sad.
Only 2 more days before Hamilton and Vettel dominate each topic. Possibly even the Indy thread that I'll be taking refuge in.
To be fair he only meant it in a well wishing way, in that he would be stronger in character than he was before, because of it happening. He just isn't sharp on thinking before acting.
I agree 100 percent but it is better to comment once recovered than when a recovery may not happen. Anyway for me it's much about nothing.
I don't think it really matters to be honest. It was quite a supportive message. I'm just unsure where anybody could take offense. It's not like he was talking Karma or anything like that.
His response was the (after effect) of the incident in the sense of it happening for a reason to show his resilience as a person and that it seems Hamilton has much more faith than most in that his God will not allow him to die. Called faith in a caring "God", I see no malice in what he said IMO, though he could of worded himself better but most things that come off the head rather than a script usually sounds better when you said it rather than listening to it. Same **** with the papers trying to make out that Hamilton was saying Vettel was a boring champion when in fact he said it was boring watching him run away because Vettel and Red Bull were just doing a much better job than them and that he deserves all his success etc...
It's just easier and less misleading to not say it. So maybe it was religion. It won't be on the topic of karma Bhaji because what could possibly warrant a man who has 2 kids and a wife to be put in a coma.
I think if Lewis really came out and said something that bad I doubt he would gain the respect back from everyone around him. Especially when you have guys like Massa, Vettel, Todt, Brawn, Ferrari and his wife around who are very close to Schumacher I doubt Lewis would last a year longer in F1 as his career would be done if it really was meant to be vindictive. I mean I could see Vettel, Todt and Massa in particular make his life very VERY difficult if he ever said anything like that and Fuller would be ready to jump ship + Mercedes contract wise because it's career suicide.
Pretty naive I fear. I have a nephew who was in a coma for 7 weeks, you can't have an expectation that the person will be the same person when they come out of the coma. You really would not make such a comment about anyone in this situation. You can only assume this was a stupid, dumb, uneducated comment. I won't bore this thread with the details of my nephew but Michael will have a long journey ahead, if he comes round, that may never end. It can only have been an uneducated comment.
