Paul Konchesky returns from suspensions after missing the last 3 games. Lloyd Dyer is a doubt with an Achilles problem. Sean St. Ledger is out but apart from that we have a fully fit squad to choose from. So here is what I would go with Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Wasilewski Schlupp Knockaert James Drinkwater Mahrez Vardy Nugent Subs- Logan, Moore, King, Hammond, Taylor-Fletcher, Phillips, Wood
@StringerSport: #lcfc boss Nigel Pearson's told us Lloyd Dyer's returned to training. That means just 1 1st team injury, St Ledger - Conditioning
We are at home against Blackpool who have been woeful ... why on earth would we want Konch on the bench?? ... sub the key forwards when, hopefully, we already have the game won ...
In case Jeff picked up an injury? I'd rather have proper LB cover than cram a CB in there. You'd still have plenty of forward options on the bench.
He did do well when called upon at LB. Let's just hope Schlupp keeps putting in performances like he has for the last few games. I think Konch has had a decent season but Jeff has the potential to offer so much more . Been really impressed with him defensively as well as going forward.
Sean St. Ledger cant see him getting a game for us. hes got to be fourth choice at the minute for one of the two center back places. i think we need to stick ith a winning team it isnt broken it doesnt need fixing, Konch like Liam will have to wait until their replacement has a bad game which is good as competition for a place in the team keeps players from getting complacent. Vardy and Nugent most be worried that Woods is itching to play i think that is helping us at the minute
Ledge is 5th choice and has probably played his last game for us He has Wes, Wasilewski, Moore and Miquel ahead of him
I'd have Konch on the bench at least, i'd prefer to have a proper left back option rather than putting a right footed player there. Like others say, if we run out of forwards, bring on Konch and put Schlupp up front.
So you don't like Knocky or Mahrez playing on the right? ... afraid I'm not a Konch fan, he can be a liability - we got out of jail at Forest after he reduced us to ten men - now irrespective of whether it was a 'proper red' or just a yellow there was absolutely no need for such a reckless tackle in that area of the pitch ... so I'll take a dependable right (or two) footed player that won't get sent off needlessly ... but it's all about opinions ...
You can do more from midfield when your left footed on the right side (read Bale at RM), but when your a fullback, your main job attacking is to overlap, you overlap as a right footed player and your going to receive that ball and stop rather than carrying on and delivering a left footed cross. Moore is a better defender than Schlupp, so why is Schlupp being chosen over Moore or even Miquel? Konchesky quite often will whip in a cross that a right footed player couldn't do. I know he can make rash challenges, but the fact that Pearson is happy to "risk it" by playing him over Schlupp shows how much he respects Konch's game.
Remains to be seen ... but for me Jeff has ceased his opportunity and I think Konch may find it difficult to oust him ... 3 games, 3 wins by 3 goals and 3 consecutive clean shhets speaks volumes ...
Oh yeah, i wouldn't want Konch back in at the moment to start, as it would reflect badly on Moore sitting out, but i wouldn't mind if he was an option that we could bring on if Schlupp got injured or was needed up front.
It is a 'nice problem' for Nigel to have - we cold fill the subs bench with worthwhile options twice over right about now
I am not the English language police (in fact my writing is poor). Ceased, meaning ended I think you meant "seized" It's just he opposite of what you meant
