We had an away win and a clean sheet before the break too I guess we'll find out if the break is a help or a hinderence....they have a big CL game 2 days later....will be interesting to see how they line up!
That's also true mate. Just have too believe in Brendan and the players. I won't be able too watch it, I'll be at work so I suppose that's one thing in our favour!
in the end utd need to play us and then olympiakos. can they play both with intensity? i don't know the answer and no manc on here can give an unbiased view. if utd come for us i think they might be bolloxed for the greeks but greeks historically are ****e travellers so i'll predict that utd might sneak into the next round still... and there get absolutely smashed zingy style.
Looking over the United Squad they still have a bloody good 11 in that list, what team Formation do you NOT want to see united play against us? United team I don't want to see. ------------------De Gea ---------------------------------------- -Rafeal---Ferdinand---Vidic----Evra ---------------------------------------- -----------Carrick---Fletcher-------- ---------------------------------------- --------Januzaj--Mata--Kagawa---- ------------------Rooney--------------
I don't want to see ------------------De Gea ---------------------------------------- -Rafeal---Ferdinand---Vidic----Evra ---------------------------------------- -----------Carrick---Fletcher-------- ---------------------------------------- --------Mata--Fellani--Rooney---- ------------------RVP-------------- Using Fellani around the edge of the box as a target man feeding Rooney and Mata.
Going to regret saying this (Sorry) But RVP just doesn't look interested think they play better without him. And Fellani is Crap Kagawa is a much better player
When I've seen Fellani playing in midfield I agree, playing off the striker he looks better which is why I don't want to see that team.
Agree that is his best role but think they have better players to play off the striker, United fans wouldn't be to happy to start playing Moyes@Everton tactics either I would guess
in short my opinion on felliani is he WAS a good holding midfielder that moyes converted into a donkey target man with his pulis style football tactics. felliani is route one and has i think forgotten what midfield means. the 4-2-3-1 above is bascially a long ball donkey side lumping it at felliani? nah utd have better than this if moyes would employ it. however i for one would DEARLY love to see ferdinand, vidic and carrick up agasint our lot. SAS and sterling running, plus henderson buzzing round? Lets not under sell ourselves. ON our day if we play like we mean it and dro pthe timidness away from hom could absolutely slaughter those old men. If I were utd i'd be playing almost 4-5-1 with ronney making up the 5th man... then they pass it about and make us chase it.
We don't like that ball down the middle though and Man Utd fans might accept Moyes tactics for one game if they get a win. Anyway he's shown no signs of doing this so we should be ok.
It turns out matth only wants Man Utd to win because of the benefit to Chelsea: Did anyone else also notice yesterday the flood of comments to the BBC praising Man City players like Kompany, all ending with "and I'm a Man Utd fan". Seems like a lot of people are laying the groundwork for when they jump ship... "I always liked this team"
kagawa is a no 10 type. he wants to just play inside. its like nasri.. with due respect i f'n loved to play arsenal when he played and love to play city cos 90% of the time he drifted in and passed square he's a good player but totally wrongly employed by moyes and ferguson. it's like this buy mata... buy a 10.. give rooney 300k per week... pay a second no 10... that means januzaj and kagawa will be at best wingers which wastes their best talent which is eye for pass For me... sterling = winger. pace, pace pace, he's only shown a few glimpses of anyhting like the passing coutinho can do and its the same at utd. coutinho is a no 10 out on the wing at times and frnakly... mata and kagawa are too! onthe ball down the middle... FFS that's giving us the ball back half the time and THIS season skertl has "manned up" and gone and contested the aerial stuff. I've not seen one single big man just let have the ball easy in front of our cbs this season. utd at home should be taking 60% possession, not kicking it away.. after all REALITY BITES. this is why the english league is in the toilet compared to europe's elite. too much kicking the ball away, emphasis on dumn fast runners and not enough on the fundamentals of technique and like us proper defending. its all one end to the other stuff.
Don't know what the stats say - and don't really care but how many balls in the air that have been kicked away has Skertl missed this season?
I'd be happy to see that. Carrick and Fletcher aren't the most mobile, nor the most creative so we can dominate that area with our three. This cuts the supply to the front quartet too. Rooney isolated upfront will get frustrated and wonder about looking for the ball leaving no front man, our defence should just about be able to manage marking no one. I'd be more concerned with this. Me point above about Carrick and Fletcher still stands but Felliani gives them a target man to bypass the midfield. If he has a good game in that role it leaves their quartet attacking our CBs
