What? All i'm saying is that playing Podolski as a CF will exploit a weakness in Spurs' defence, one that Giroud isn't quick enough to exploit.
Pod has been crap as a CF this season, he's done okay on the left flank but there's no way he should start ahead of Giroud up front. What Giroud does well is that he holds up play and brings pacey players like Ox, Santi, Rosicky, Walcott when fit, into play. We don't play a 'ball over the top' game for a pacey CF to run onto, so playing Pod there is not going to work.
Giroud's hold up play has been below par for a while now. It was the only thing he was good at, and now even that is deserting him. I honestly think Poldi will have a good game as a CF against the Spuds, just a gut feeling, and i trust my gut. As i said, Dawson is slower than global warming, which means Poldi will get space, and will get opportunities to unleash the cannon where most of us have a left foot.
Problem is though, as I've outlined we don't play the sort of game that suits Pod as a CF. When we have played him there he's been really ineffective. I think he'd be ideal out on the left flank, cutting in and shooting. But even though I know you don't like Giroud, he does bring other players into the game, the pacey ones that you rightly mention who can leave Dawson behind the previous week.
According to the Grauniad,Aaron Ramsey won't be fit for the game but some Swedish fellah called Kallstrom could be in the squad.Has anyone any idea who the **** he is ?
My team for the game: Szczesny Sagna Mert Kos (hopefully fit) Vermaelen (if Gibbs is not fit) Flamini, Arteta Cazorla Pod, Giroud, Ox.
Am I being hostile with Arsenal if I said that there is no chance for them win the Premier League 2013/14??
You can all stop fantasing about anyone running at Dawson, he did his hamstring against Chelsea, can't see him being available. Kaboul (if his fitness holds) and Vertonghen are your likely opponents.
I don't know, I don't watch Spurs much, but is he as **** as some around here make him out to be? Whenever I do watch Spurs play, and I see Dawson, don't really see anything that bad about him and he looks a good defender. You watch him consistently, so what would you say about him?
I think he is a very decent defender. Problem is he lacks pace. Kaboul can get done and recover, Dawson not so much. But he is a defender who gives everything for the team and his positioning has improved over the years. Few beat him in the air. He can, however, be a little rash sometimes, diving in when he doesn't need to, but overall doesn't deserve the donkey label.
Kaboul is a player I really rate when healthy. He still has it in him to be incredibly rash but can we really judge when we have Kos and his penalty fixation?! Problem, as I mentioned, is that he's rarely fit and we have enough of that sort of nonsense. I'd rather face Dawson who I regard as a steady, if fecking slow, player. Kind of like a much sh*tter Mertesacker!
This match is a crucial and Arsenal should be able to get FULL points if they wanted a Premier League silverware this season. A loss may see their chance fade away as they will have a tough fixture ahead with an impending 2nd leg with Chelsea and Manchester City. If they cruised past against Adebayor et al in this match, this will definitely boost Arsene Wenger's men confidence to conquer the last 8 fixtures.
Or it will provoke a response from our players and get us to win the game. It all boils down to whether our manager knows more about our players than a random poster on a forum. Tough one, let me think. Is there a clue in the offensive username history......
