Just tells you how rubbish this division is. We have been very very very poor, yet 14 points of the playoffs says it all does it not.
3 more stinking wins, would have had us in contention! Hopefully a better start next year, under someone more competent than we started with this year will mean we will be playoff candidates at least come this time next season! We may not be top of the table, but Baldock is top of the stats table!
It's not the amount of points between the ???? and us it's the amount of teams. Rovers are 9 points off with 11 games to go but the amount of teams between them makes that place harder to get to. Because you can guarantee that every week one of the teams will keep the distance point gap there. I'm just happy with given at least 2 games difference now between us and relegation place. It's still squeaky bum time but the positive is building so let's concentrate on getting over this season and concentrate on pushing forward next season.
A short while ago, I said we needed 6 more wins to add to the 6 we already had and wasn't confident, given the low number of wins gained. Now we need 3 more and an odd draw or two from 10 games which sounds a lot more manageable- Half of those games are with teams below us. Just as a footnote, a friend of mine (Wolves fan) told me that prior to last night, that we were the last team to score against them (25th January).
Think realistically the playoffs are too far away from us, maybe if it was January we'd still have enough time to catch the others but can't see it happening. Just hoping we can stay up and build some momentum to carry us into next season.

Woah there Rickster ! We've won 3 games on the spin which is great but let's not get too carried away ! Building the squad and finishing in the top 6 next season is a bit more realistic. There were lots of people who reckoned we'd walk it this year and get 100 points into the bargain
At the beginning of this season I made a prediction that we would start poorly and struggle until at least Christmas, and that SOD would experience some heavy flac. Then things would turn around in the new year and we would be threatening the play offs by the end. This has proved too close for comfort, and although not entirely correct you must admit it was a good guess. The second part of my prediction was that we would win the Div1 the season after, and I am going to stick with that. Nothing apart from Wolves (who we wont play next term) have looked even close to unbeatable, and if we fine tune things a little, dont lose anyone, and with Kelly back and firing on all cylinders I believe my fiver looks safe We have a good squad which will improve with a couple of astute signings, and a lot more confidence. We have a manager who does know how to shape things up (although not to everyones taste. Nobody is perfect and nobody can please everybody), and I believe that if SL backs him in the transfer market he will take us where we want to go
I think you could be right with your above comment. This season has been a bloody joke with the quality players here.
