This is the guy who in January said we didn't need to buy a striker he would get the goals. I say take him to the knackers yard along with Zamora and put both of them out of their misery. Would certainly put me out of my misery having to watch them when they are in the team.

QPR striker Andrew Johnson is to see a specialist about his latest injury setback.

The 33-year-old, who has been plagued by knee problems in recent seasons, is currently sidelined by an ankle ailment.

Boss Harry Redknapp therefore remains desperately short of firepower with top scorer Charlie Austin recovering from a shoulder operation, Kevin Doyle struggling with a knee problem and Bobby Zamora still short of fitness following an injury-hit season.

"AJ is not fit, he's got an ankle injury and he's going to see the specialist again," said Redknapp.

"Charlie is out long-term, although he will be back before the end of the season.

"Bobby had a game on Tuesday for the reserves. Kevin tweaked a knee ligament last Saturday and we have to see how it settles down."

It was left to on-loan Manchester United youngster Will Keane to lead Rangers' attack at Brighton on Tuesday night, but the visitors drew another blank as they crashed to a 2-0 defeat.

However, Redknapp added: "Young Will Keane worked hard, he's only a boy and he just needs a goal. I can't fault his effort.

"He'll be okay, he'll be a good player and I'm sure he'll score some goals for us."

I hate to say I told you so but.....

His contract is up so hes gone if we have any sense, what a waste of 40 k a week. He's more expensive than messi on a per goal basis.

But they are hardly ever in the team so you cannot be too miserable :1980_boogie_down:, the sooner Flyer´s list is fulfilled the better IMO! - apart from Barton, I like his on-field contribution

Me too but I don't like him off the field. I've always said he's a decent player but very overpaid.

yes there's no dressing it up - Johnson has been an awful purchase. Even when he's looked good, the following week he's back on the physios table. the sooner we're shot of him the better. sad to admit because when fit and buzzing about he's a threat but far too unreliable fitness wise to be in the squad. or any squad for that matter.

Pound for £££, AJ BZ & SWP have been the worst signings in the history of the club.

Anyone that disagrees with this is obviously is a 'deer with no eyes'

Harry should have let them go last summer, they've been a complete waste of untold millions and sum up everything that TF got wrong with this club...

What was the saying Karen Brady quoted - if you want to make a small fortune in football, start with a large one. TF is a red hot businessman, but when it come to football, he's one of us, a fan, with not much experience (though he must be learning fast). He's had to rely on his managers. They've let him down.

Still, I hope we don't lose him because although the learning experience has been painful, I believe he's astute enough to get things right. May be a bit more influence from the Mittals (who picked out Warnock after the days of Flavio's revolving doors) wouldn't go amiss

I think US fans know a hellava lot more about players than Tony does, yes he trusted the managers in charge at the time but tbh there was a bit of a reoccurring theme going on and Tony just wasn't able to tune in quick enough. He is a good guy but a little slow on the uptake.

I think QPR went though a period of buying players that had long peaked and were never going to get any better. Surely the purchase of Austin must give them a little bit of a clue for the future?

Don't for get he scored 6 goals in 3 years before we got him and 3 of those were a hat trick against us.

Its not a fluke or hard luck that this happened. He's been an awful player bar one season when he got about 14 pens and has been living off that ever since.
Him and zamora cost us more than buying Rhodes for £8m, just let that sink in, thats not even including any money wed get back selling him.

    4.5m plus 100k a week v 8m and 40k a week. Work that out over 3 years.

However, I think Zamora is worse than Johnson. Hated when we signed Zamora especially for 5 million and he has been even worse then I imagined he could have been. He also looks totally uninterested. That said so does Harry.

I can honestly say I thought he'd must have left around Xmas time cause you just don't hear about him. Cannot believe he's still with us ............... surely he should have been included at the secondary winter Olympics.

You'll all be delighted to hear that Zamora, SWP and Luke Young will not be having their contracts renewed according to the Super Soaraway Sun. My what a relief!...

Totally agree Goldie. My inclination is that we're lucky to have Uncle Tony, but as David M said recently; I'll feel a lot more positive about things once I see some actual building work take place at either the new training ground or the new stadium!

Perhaps it’s naivety, but whenever I hear Tony talk I can’t help but feel that he is a good man who genuinely has the best interests of the club at heart. The plans look great, and this makes me feel that the future of the club is a very bright one. Trouble is, it’s all talk at the moment, and despite the massive debt we’ve incurred we’ve not yet got anything really tangible to show for it. <ok>
