Is Seb Vettel thinking of jumping ship now things are not bright at Red Bull? Maybe Marko's statement here is a clue that Seb isn't very happy at Red Bull right now? Just a question.

Marko: If our disastrous state does not change soon, I could not blame Vettel for thinking about a change

Red Bull needs to up its game or risk losing Sebastian Vettel admits Helmut Marko, as quadruple reigning world champion Vettel prepares to either retire or finish outside the points as the 2014 season kicks off this weekend in Melbourne.

Marko admitted to Bild newspaper: “If our disastrous state does not change soon, I could not blame him for thinking about a change.”

Vettel, 26, sat down with his mechanics in Melbourne on Tuesday for his traditional pre-season dinner, where he named his uncompetitive RB10 car an unspectacular ‘Suzie’.

Marko told Sport Bild magazine: “After the test in Bahrain, we would be happy if we finish in the points in Australia.

“We know that we have a good car,” he added, “but we’ll only know if the engine is good if we get it to work properly. The decisive factor is the new software that our engineers wrote for Renault.”

But for now Vettel is taking the situation in good spirit, saying ahead of Melbourne, “It’s great to be starting the season next week. We didn’t do as much running as we would have liked in testing this year, so we have work to do in Melbourne, but it will be good to get to the first race.”

“It’s hard to know where we are; it’s fair to say that we’re not the favourites to win and we have to catch up with others that have completed more mileage, but we’ll do our best with the great people that we have working for the team.”

“We have achieved a lot together and I know everyone is working flat out as normal,” added the world champion. (GMM)

The answer to your question is No.

Would any driver who is capable of or expects to win races/championships look at what the best decission for his career is? That is a Yes.

Not in the short term. Red Bull will recover, it's only a question of when.

If he has a dud car for a couple of seasons he might get restless, but I can't see that happening.

Rosberg and Hamilton will fall out
Alonso and kimi will be fighting in the street.

So many made up stories from snippets of quotes. Roll on actual racing news.

No, considering the public only last season were demanding him to leave Red Bull to "prove himself in another team" Vettel has the high ground on this matter as the vocal people are now saying he has to stay now with Red Bull to show "loyalty...

Anybody who wants Vettel to suffer in a **** car is only after the benefit of him being out of the way for their favourite driver winning instead. At least he stayed during this period like Hamilton did back in 2009, I mean the guy did just win the world title again so RBR do deserve some faith in getting back up to that level in at least a season to prove it. But what ever happens I'm sure the haters will spin it to make out that he is a quitter and is just after an easy ride in Newey built cars.

    Next question.

As an F1 fan it would be good see what Vettel can do in a non dominant car but after what Red Bull has done for him I would expect him to show some loyalty taking the rough with the smooth.

To answer your question I don't think he would jump, and he should remember it is not Red Bull but the powertrain provided by Renault that is the main issue and once they can get over the problems Red Bull will come again they may have to play catch up but as we have seen when it come to pushing and developing a car throughout an f1 season Red Bull are the number ones.

Twist or stick, I bet on Vettel sticking.

Vettel could have moved from Red Bull after 2009 and 2010 when reliability was still an issue for the team and he could have thought Ferrari or McLaren would have been better long term prospects. History shows he made the right decision.

    Definitely not a quitter.

I don't think he'll quit but I can see him leaving eventually, if he wins a championship with Red Bull in this new era then maybe he'll consider a change.

What of it? He's been there since 2009 so may fancy a change anyway.

Biggeset quitter in the sport at the moment is Hulkenberg. Jumps ship every year if he thinks he sees a better opportunity elsewhere.

hmm, maybe he'll cheat and lie to the stewards, maybe he'll release his teams telemetry if he gets beaten by his team-mate, maybe he'll accuse the stewards of racism when he gets punished for being a twat, but then maybe he wont as he's not Hamilton.

I thought this was a thread about the doctor not blaming Seb if he was to quit Red Bull? I see nothing on this thread start about Dave Ryan coercing a young and vulnerable raw talent into misleading stewards in the year of 2009. Maybe next some would like to talk about bling bling and rapping . I suppose haters will hate.

Westy's law comes in to play in well under 20 posts these days rather than the traditional 100.
