Sol Campbell is talking bollocks regarding the monkey chants in my opinion...If anyone does owt like that at Sunderland, they would get short shrift from those around them..I have never heard any large scale racist chanting/behaviour at the SoL at all, and I have never missed a game there..
Right now i've left the snug thing alone, i would like to address this matter then Sid. What are the guidelines then, what can be said, and what can't? I'm not playing innocent, just these guidelines seem to go in a very wavy line.
Comm it's probably best to say nothing, it's good practice for in 10 years when white people in England won't be allowed to talk at all.
i was standing amongst a group of chimps at the game in question and the only thing i heard was the discussion among them was on the lines of the general feeling that sol would not be a good captain for england ,but i must admit at one point they were making human noises which rhymed with sack and hunt
I've just said there aren't any guidelines, FFS. I will PM you some pointers, as this is a thread about Sol Campbell, not about what is or is not racism.
Sol Campbell played the racism card by making a sweeping statement about everybody in your ground, there's an element of irony about that. The fact that he made an inference that all the supporters were being racist makes him worse or at least just as bad as the supporters he's tearing into. The fact is, the whole ground didn't do that or it would have made the news, and Sol probably didn't mean every supporter but because he's such a thick bastard he's gone and made a story out of nothing, especially where your fans are concerned. Nobody dare question the big numb **** in public for fear of persecution and being accused of being a racist! This debate was inevitably going to end up with references to the fundamentals of racism.
The vast majority of Sunderland supporters always have, and always will, shout down any kind of concerted racist chants. What Campbell's done is so easy because it can't be proven either way. The man is a disgrace.
I'm assuming that every game that Campbell played at the Sol was in the premiership era, therefore every game would have been covered by TV. Knowing how much SSN love to give north east clubs a kicking at every oppertunity, I'm AMAZED that these alleged racist chants have never been mentioned before. Surely if "the whole stadium" was chanting racist remarks, somebody might have noticed. Must have only been the same little voice in Sol's head that kept telling him he was a great footballer too!!
If the Lazio fans make the news for group racist chanting than any premiership club doing the same would be all over the news.
more like the big voice saying your book is not selling because you have been long forgotten until you came out recently ,i suppose it puts a different meaning to the hard or soft back thing.
