http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...een-england-captain-for-10-years-9183414.html No sign of Judas stopping talking ****e just yet.
<quote> And he would also like Tottenham fans to take a deeper look at his reasons for crossing the north London divide. For many, even those who do not go so far as to call him Judas, this remains the great betrayal. “Of course they’re going to have some kind of anger towards me,” accepts Campbell. “I totally understand where they’re coming from and I accept it. It is quite simple really. It’s just because I went from Tottenham to Arsenal and also I was successful. </quote> He just doesn't get it, does he ?? Or he does (and implicitly confirms why he is thought of as an utter c**t) .
Campbell's merely displaying his own racism: "Take an African country which has a kid who’s white. He grows up to be a wonderful player and wants to be captain. I can understand it might not sit easy with the majority black people." Or they wouldn't give a crap, one or the other. Given evidence that his claim's wrong, in the form of Paul Ince who claims that people were fine with him as a black England captain, he still doesn't accept that he might be wrong. He wasn't made captain because he was a disloyal, mentally unhinged, paranoid twat. Nothing to do with the colour of his skin.
They reviewed his book in the Sunday Times the other day - praised his honesty and insight!!! No surprise then that it was the Tmes that serialised the book to start with.......
Seriously? The deluded ****er got 73 England caps - SEVENTY THREE - including three games as captain, and still this bullshit story won't go away? I seriously hope that Judas gets slapped with several lawsuits as a result of this and is on the dole by his 40th birthday.
An inquiry would be good idea. The outcome is predictable and would show once and for all that Judas is a racists with a few screws loose.
Ashley Cole has over 100 caps and as far as i know has captained the team once. He's also black, and a twat (not linked, don't start), yet he isn't moaning. He's also a better player than Campbell
In his interview with the Standard yesterday he kept going on and on about how Michael Owen wasn't England captain material, and that pretty much undermines Judas' whole argument: it has nothing to do with racism, and everything to do with being an entitled prick who feels that captaining England on "only" three occasions isn't enough (ignoring the fact that Bobby Charlton captained England on three occasions and never complained about it, whilst three caps as captain is more than Ray Clemence, Gareth Barry, Scott Parker and his Arsenal teammates David Seaman and Martin Keown ever got) It's telling that his attitude is that he is right to make these comments and that he stands by them, meaning that Paul Ince, John Barnes, Ian Wright and the head of the Kick It Out campaign, all of whom have flatly dismissed his claims as pure bullshit, are wrong.
Under pressure from who, exactly? It seems to me that Judas is in a minority of one on his fanciful claims.
"It's telling that his attitude is that he is right to make these comments and that he stands by them, meaning that Paul Ince, John Barnes, Ian Wright and the head of the Kick It Out campaign, all of whom have flatly dismissed his claims as pure bull****, are wrong." He has a product to sell. A product for which there doesn't appear to be high demand for. So he used a controversial aspect (fallacy or not) to help promote his product. In the biog market, those that are most honest (about good things and bad) tend to sell well. So when someone gets to the parts about the whys and hows of what he did to Spurs, let us know.
on talksport they bought up the fact that he is/was a loner who didn't socialize with the his team mates. That I think is the reason he didn't captain the team. He was/is an insular, not particularly charismatic individual. Correct me if I am wrong but I think a captain needs to be the screamer, they push, support, they exude charisma and their leadership qualities are evident. Campbell is /was not the right person for the job. Before he starts moaning he should get some behavioural therapy and do some exercises in being more sociable.
In other words, George Graham probably shouldn't have given him the captain's armband then. Would've saved everyone a lot of unnecessary whining.
I think if you asked most professional players who they would rather have as a Captain, Sol C**pbell or Stuart Pearce, I think we would know what the answer would be. One full of blood, guts and determination. A never say die rabble-rouser. A fist-pumping defender full of drive and desire. Never turned their back on club or country. A bit dim but liked the Sex Pistols......... or Sol C**pbell. Yet Pearce still only got 5 more caps than C**pbell and only 10 caps were as captain. Honetly, 3 caps as captain were 3 too many and he should just reflect on the positives of his career and on the size of his bank balance.
