Posting this again just because there is an air of "arsenal aren't good in Europe" from those visiting liverpool fans
I'd love to have seen there recent liverpool team up against the teams we have played lol.
In their heads they obviously think they can do it, next season will be a good reality check for them, lol with that defence of theirs, your Munichs and Barcas would eat Liverpool for lunch, sure SAS would probably score 2 goals combined, but only to make the scoreline something like 4 or 6-2 to the opposing team.
This season he has a record of 1 goal per 2 games along with all the other area so f his game which we benefit from massively, his lay offs (several assists), hold up play, headers when we have to put it forward, defensive headers (he basically put so out every other corner for us) etc...
He is not the most lethal of strikers and he doesn't have much pace, but he has not been largely garbage this season. He may not be world class, but he is a very solid striker.

Thinking about this game I reckon we need to be going for somebody like Lars Bender in the summer again. I know we have Flamini, but he's probably only got one or two seasons left as has Arteta. The Bayern goal tonight was caused by Ox and Santi completely missing the run from Schweinsteiger, who was left totally unmarked to slot home. Partly that was a result of us having to throw caution to the wind and play two attacking MF players in the middle, but I just think we need a bit more steel in the middle at times.

For the type of striker he is giroud is good enough. We just need a striker that is lethal and who goes past there man with a bit of pace to compliment him or playing instead of him depending on opposition.

He was pretty **** tonight. Made me think twice about wanting us to bid for him.
i just dont see it .......i watch him off the ball and he never works , the Bayern players had the ball 4 yards away from him looking for a pass and he dont even press them he just stands there .
Its not even his lack of strike ability that annoys me about him , its his lazy attitude.
Compare Ros to him .
Ros will run 25 yards to a Bayern player to press and hassle the guy into a mistake .
Giroud wont run TWO yards to press the ball.
We cant have that .
It's because he loves us, so he couldn't play to his full potential, it was a mental thing.
